FIFA AR Hector Vergara extended interview on Fox Sports World Report

Last night, I caught 10-15 min of Vergara being interviewed in-studio on the FSW Report. Not sure how much I missed, but the part I caught was very interesting. Very well-spoken guy, offered a lot of good thoughts and insights. Among other things, he reasoned that the 4th on the final likely conferred with AR1 during the delay after the headbutt. Many others on bigsoccer have speculated this is why the ref chatted with AR1, not the 4th, before showing the red card and why the chat was so brief.

I'll poke around to see if they've got a transcript of the chat on the Fox Soccer website.

I hadn't visited Vergara's WC blog site, but the hosts mentioned he had been doing one.

I saw the whole thing. He also talked a bit about FIFA's directives going into the tournament, his experiences in Germany, a brief discussion of his offsides call in Switzerland/Ukraine (the only one of the whole game), and also briefly discussed whether he will try to make 2010.

He did observe that the in-stadium video screens were not showing replays.

I don't recall anything else that was noteworthy. FSW Report does typically replay late in the morning, either 10 am or 11 am.
