the us has a legit arguement toward being considered co-champs...
they were the class of one of fifas big three power regions...
and tied the champions hence are co champions... plus they were playing with a man down the whole second half!
imagine usa 11 v italy 11 the whole game...

Oh come on dude. I'm a supporter of the USA and co-champions we are DEFINETELY not. Co-Champions of maybe of disappointment, maybe. We were in a group of death, but at the end of the day, we had our chance to advance. We didn't. (Though Merk's pathetic call didn't help us..)

SEMI-OT
How was Ghana-U.S.A ?? It's one of the few matches I didn't see at all. I just heard that thle penalty 4 Ghana was very generous.
Did U.S. have chances to win the game or not?

^^ who knows how the US/Ghana game would have turned out? The gift penalty kick came at the very end of the first half and Ghana went into injury diversionary tactics in the second half and I believe there was only a total of about 20-25 minutes of actual soccer played in that 2nd half. A LOT of players were tired, more on Ghana's side, but the US didn't mount a whole lot of meaningful chances, either.
Re: the Italy game, the italians were outplayed in that game. I think it served as a good wake up call for them. I was a little upset that I couldn't cheer the goal we actually did make (McBride for offsides/blocking the keeper) but man if that would have counted, a 1-man down goal would have been great.
But co-champions? C'mon now...

I liked the segments with Alexi Lalas, and the one where Stewart made fun of the USA losses better.
Good times.
