View Full Version : Chelsea Fans Roll Call - August 5th - Chicago
I'm going with my wife. Had booked the trip prior to Chelsea being announced - was planning on seeing Fire v. Crew, but lucky us.
We're coming in on Wednesday - going to the Cubs on Thursday and Chelsea on Saturday
Who else will be in town?

Brook and my 4 friends from London, Paul and Helen, and Colin and Alison. We arrive Friday, staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. I'm leaving Sunday morning while the Londoners leave Tuesday morning.

after the Cubs game you should hit up The Globe Pub.

one of the owners (or ex-owners) not sure because I haven't seen him around in a while is a Chelsea supporter. the other two are a Blue Scouser and a Celtic supporter. It's not that far from Wrigley, you could walk it if needed (1.5 miles I think)

Thinking about flying in for it depending on how things at work shake out this week. Also looking to make the return pilgrimage to Wrigley. Tentatively staying at The Sutton Place. Anyone know where the team's staying?

I will be attending the match and sitting behind the MLS bench next to the players tunnel. Lollapalooza is that weekend also. Looking at going to the concert and seeing my two favorite Chicago bands, Wilco and Poi Dog Pondering!

Um...I do wonder why they make them so expensive.
Is it something the club has no control over?
Two years ago, in Philly, I paid over the top for them...and again last Summer too.
If I remember right though, the practice tickets were included in the ticketmaster package.

The reason the tickets are so expensive is because the game will be played at Toyota Park, and the seating capacity there is only about 20,000. When MU played Bayern in Chicago in '04, it was played at Soldier Field, where the capacity is over 60,000, so the tickets were less expensive. The stadium was packed for the game and I think over 10,000 people came to see the training session.

I want to go. I'm so jealous. There's no way I'm getting out to Chicago this time around though. Maybe they'll come back to DC next summer :D

Trolling here, but i would like to warn you guy's.Stay away from rows 1-9 in sec 128, right around the players tunnel. the "best seats in the house " have a chain link fence next to them blocking half of the field.
check out the photo.
