Didn't see this posted here yet, but this article appeared in AS (Spanish sports daily) on the 7th.

The basic gist is that Fabio Capello has decided that Madrid is travelling too much, so rather than go from Salt Lake City to Santiago de Chile, Real Madrid will only be playing against Real Salt Lake (August 8th) with a possible match in Washington following that match.

Anyone else heard news on this. I scanned the forum but didn't see any posts. I'm guessing they would probably be playing another Euro power, but I'm wondering if DC United could fit in another friendly. It would probably be worth it.

That would be a good match to watch. Hopefully it is after the road trip from hell that United are halfway through.

Please dear god, no.

Afraid your allegiance to Bozilla would be shaken by the presence of Becks?

Have faith little one... ;)

Well, if it happens, I'll be there with my Barcelona jersey hacklin' Ronaldo with the same chants we use to hackle Meola... :D

Trying to hold myself back from a pitch invasion would be a tricky thing indeed. :D

This would be good experience for United. How often do they get to play a team that overpays for tempramental internationals? A team that looks good on paper and then fails to win trophies? A team that constantly promises fans the world and fails to deliver?

Anyone envisioning a Chelsea-Real Madrid exhibition? All-Star game is the 5th, Real Madrid is playing Fake Salt Lake on the 8th. What's on the schedule for the 11th or 12th?

Yup, a club with a roster under $2 million knocking off the Galacticos...I would pay to see that.

Thank God ZZ is retiring. Just imagine what kind of vicious headbutt he might lay on Fredinho

Actually this may be possible since our schedule is 'free' right then (though I think the boys should be taking a well deserved rest!)

Barca in the last 2 seasons: 2 La Liga Trophies, 1 Champions League Trophy, 1 Super cup

Madrid:

Hopefully DC will get their season started off on the wrong foot and Barca can continue making Real ************ trophyless, 4 seasons running :D
