It can't turn out any worse than it did for us back on 5/31...

can it?

Regardless of the potential outcome, there is a small group of us that will be attending this game. At last count, we have 3 coming from Columbus, and will be meeting up with our north end supporters friends now residing in the D.C. area (3-5 or more people). So, if you're interested in joining us for a weekend of festivities in our nation's capital, don't hesitate to contact me. The Ohio State Univ. Alumni Club of D.C. has organized an outing for the game, so there should be a few other Crew fans there as well.

We may even bring in our small drum this time, fresh off its 2-week excursion to the World Cup with buckeye5.

Early prediction: 3-2 Crew in a truly GOLAZO BONANZA.

You know what's really sad?

I want to go to this one. I really, really do. In my heart, I can see Crew winning. In DC. Against their first squad. Against big odds.

And you know what?

I want to be there. Dammit.

Looks like we're going to have quite a nice little group of black & gold in the stands. Our head count just soared to 11 with the addition of my older sister and her 2 friends. Julie, my sis, has never been to a Crew game home or away, but just sent me an email asking if I could bring her some black and gold apparel to sport during the match!

c'mon Chels. make the trip. you KNOW you want to. ;)

Aaron and I may be attending this one.

But if Aaron doesn't go, I'll be out a partner-in-crime, and that's a must have for road trips. Unless there's anyone out there that'd like to go to DC... it should be a pretty cheap trip.

I'm planning on driving from columbus on my own at this point (about 7 hours) probably late tomorrow afternoon or early saturday morning as Mike and Erin I think are leaving tonight or tomorrow morning. I would car pool with guys if you want.

I'll be driving directly from Akron early Saturday morning. Got the hotel booked and everything.

Chels, if Aaron can't make the run with you, give me a buzz. I'd be more than happy to drive. Be forwarned, though, my car is kinda ancient...

Maybe you can drink on the entire trip to DC, like drinking in the bar car in Germany? Oh wait, you're driving...

You guys might want to go to your doctor real soon and get checked out for all the diseases that can be caught at rat infested places, a la RFK.

I know I've had a clean sheet both times I visited.. but you never know!

FYI for those interested in going to this match: Southwest Airlines is having a fare sale right now. You can fly to Baltimore and back from Columbus for a TOTAL of like $88 (this includes all taxes and fees).

Unfortunately, I will not be making the trip out for this one.
