Has anyone heard rumors of US head coach Bruce Arena getting fired??? Well he should be, now that it is all over!!! Were taylor twellman or clint mathis even on the team? Where were they. And the strategy sucked. Every game i watched the us strategy wasn't push forward, shoot a long ball down the field and make something happen. Instead it was this let's pass the ball back to our side of the field and produce nothing. And the 3 games our boys played in they didnt show up, except for the Italy game, and we only got a goal out of an Italian own-goal. But even then it was as if the team didn't want to make opportunities. And that idiot Claudio Reyna was saying before the Italy game, "We need to play careful and be reserved." That's insane! What kind of captain says that and what kind of coach allows someone with a Ben Stein personality to be captain? Why wasn't Landon Donovan the captain, he's the best player? You don't fire up your team by telling everyone to calm down. At that point Ghana hadn't won their game so it was a do or die sitch and this fool is telling our team to calm down??? Thank goodness Reyna is gone, he was a good player i'll give him that, but a bad captain. Bruce Arena needs to follow suit. Hopefully he will be fired!!!

I'm curious to know if this guy is available to be the next US coach. He seems qualified.

I would have been even more concerned before the World Cup if Bruce had picked Clint Mathis. Mathis is a freakin moron who needs mental help.

Strangely enough, I agree with most of this post. Taylor would have put in a rebound or loose ball at some point. Donovan was playing way too far back most of the time. Notice that it was Dempsey who was the guy up the field on Beasley's cross. If Dempsey wasn't out there, that goal would not have happened.
Not really sure about Mathis' mental stability, but really, he wouldn't have hurt us. And he might have helped.
I agree about Claudio. Good player, but I think he's a bit in awe of the top soccer nations. Maybe you get that from playing with a 2nd rate club against these "European greats" regularly. Almost give them too much respect. Sort of like "even with Manchester City, we don't have a hope to beat the top players...how on earth can we possibly do it with a bunch of MLS fill-ins.?"
I hope Dempsey continues his development. He has the right attitude to lead the team. Perhaps Donovan will rise to the challenge once Reyna's gone. I'd wager it will be either Donovan or Dempsey that captains the team in the future.
