Unbelieveable the difference in this "Special Relationship"!!!!!! (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2541133,00.html)

I heard the interview with him on the radio. Very funny, poor bugger had no idea what was happening to him. I suspect that he's normally 'insulated' from the real world.

I am a new member and I hope I will not be banned from being an English Arsenal fan

Welcome to the board! You wont get banned unless you mention a certain ex-Spurs and Manu player...

If your a college student, a good place to check for flights is STAtravel.com, you can also buy eurorail passes from them too.

reet me and a couple of mates are thinkin of going to the home of le sexy football to watch a prem game this season

what method should i use to get tickets:

phone order or try at the gate, which is risky i guess?

i looked online and it says tickets only available to silver members for some of the games, what does this mean and does this apply to buying at the gate or phone ordering?

Counting down the days to my England trip in early March. Looking forward to seeing the lads in person at their new home. Saw one match in the last season at Highbury, and whilst it wasn't the most stellar example of football, it was a thrill to visit the HOF at least once. Still, I regret not taking a complete tour of the stadium or visiting the museum.

Thus, this trip, I'll be pulling out all the stops. Rick is arranging my tickets for Reading and PSV Einhoven. I'm planning on taking the stadium tour. I'm hoping to see someone at the London Arsenal Supporters Group, who was very kind to me last trip.

Contemplating visiting the Rocket prior to one of the matches, which is the pre-match home of the Redaction group. Have never been to the Arsenal Tavern or The Gunners, both of which I understand are worth visiting.

I have plenty of non-Arsenal stuff to do while I'm there, but if you've got any suggestions for Arsenal-related activities within London I should consider, let me know.

Cheers, Mark, San Francisco Branch Manager, Arsenal America

A billion to one.

Thats what i was expecting. Well, if the game happens, i hope that it will be the 5:15 start time, or on Sunday. I am assuming that 5:15 should work?

Paddington Express from Heathrow is a very expensive way to get into central London in 15 minutes.

It saved my bacon going the other way when I forgot to set my alarm for my return flight home after stumbling back to the hotel room after celebrating the Sunderland win last year. Without it I wouldn't have made it to the airport in time.

Upper teir or lower tier?

I'm heading to the Reading match the first weekend in March, and I'd like to take the stadium tour. Has anyone used the online booking system that arsenal.com points you to? It doesn't seem to show any availabilities for anything further out than a month. Do I just keep checking back, or am I s.o.l.?

Any experiences good or bad with this?

Thanks!

I used it to book a tour for Christmas Eve. My recollection is that it doesn't allow you to book a tour for more than a month ahead of time. I had no problems using their booking system, but I did screw up figuring out where the tour began. A hint: it ends at the Armoury but starts from the other team shop on site.

well, i guess since BBC picked the Arsenal/Bolton vs. Blackburn match for their 12:30 time slot on the 17th, there is no way i will be able to see an Arsenal game during my 17th/18th stay in London. I really do want to visit the Armoury though, all i know is it is the biggest club shop, and it is somewhere are Emirates stadium (maybe inside?). Any help regarding the store is very appreciated.

The Armoury is sort of below the stadium, meaning that it's down a flight of stairs from the level that the stadium is on and it has a separate street entrance. It's at the opposite end of the ground from where you would be walking to the stadium if you get off at the Arsenal tube stop. If you do take the Arsenal tube stop, you'll first see the smaller team store, All Arsenal or something like that, at the base of the steps that lead to the pedestrian bridge that goes over to the stadium.

There is also the World of Arsenal at the Finsbury Park tube stop.

Noob alert - new to this forum and going to London on a lark in a week... ticket question for the upcoming Wigan match...

So - since any legitimate process for obtaining tickets is out of the question with 1 week's notice, any suggestions for attempting to scalp tix near Emirates? I read most of the prior posts - I guess it is illegal to re-sell tickets in England? So - if one was to be a misguided fool and go about looking for scalpers, would they be found in the pubs? or is it best to just go near the stadium on the sidewalk and poke around? If there is a good pub by name and street number that would be appreciated. We don't care if it's pricey and dicey we just wanna get in.

If we don't get in, are there any hardcore pubs in the area that would be a good substitute to watch on TV?

thanks.

I don't know what the situation with scalpers is these days. No one here uses them. Since you're not an Arsenal fan, your chances of getting a ticket through legitimate sources probably aren't too good. But if you want to meet up with the people from this board they'll be at the Arsenal Tavern on Blackstock Road before the match. I'd get there about 2 hours before, go to the back room when it opens and listen for American accents. But why aren't you trying to get tickets for the Fulham game?

Sorry if this has been covered, but you might want to go to London via Amsterdam.

thanks a lot. although i am scared that i will spend all of my spending money, 400 dollars or so, on Arsenal gear.... but when in London, do as the Gooners do i suppose :)

Thanks - arsenal tavern, sounds great. I'm travelling with two Arsenal supporters who are not Big Soccer people so I am doing my part in the 'ol ticket hunt. Fulham are away on saturday so why not see the gunners on sunday?
