Don't use your phone much and you won't have a problem. Use text messages to save money. Getting an English phone of sim card isn't that cost effective for a short trip, its 20 pounds for the card and probably another 20 for minutes, and it goes quickly. Thats about 80 bucks right there, if you use your US phone and don't talk much, you won't spend that much. Just tell people not to call you when you're away, and don't call anyone unless you have to, and keep it short.

This isnt me asking for tickets, this is me asking a pretty basic question. If I join ArsenalAmerica, and have my friend sign up, is it remotely possible for me to get tix for the home match with Manchester United? I know how desirable the fixture is, its the one id really like to see, but Im planning my first London trip around an Arsenal match, this is the top one id like to see. If my odds arent very good for getting tix, then Ill just wait and come in the spring, and I might stay longer. Thanks for the help in advance.

Though I'm not the ticket man, I'd say your odds as a new member of getting those tickets, asking for them 8-9 weeks into the season are pretty f'in remote.

The ticket thread points out that the ManU match has already sold out, as has the Chelsea match in May.
Yo Rick, you haven't updated that "sold out" list at the bottom of the ticket request thread for a while...has it changed much?

depends on where the seats are located and how much someone wants for them.

Just show up in the neighborhood on matchday. You aren't gonna get a verbal commitment for this match if you've never been before. If you are there on game day, then sometimes tickets will appear at the last minute. There are 30 odd thousand or so season tickets holders and odds of one or two having to cancel at the last minute due to work or family are pretty high. Those tickets are too expensive not to resale.
I only have one ManU ticket for the Highbury match last January, but needed two. Didn't get the second until time to go in the stadium. You willing to try that? If so, I like your odds in the 60,000 seats of the grove.

I'm sorry, but are we really letting Billy give advice to people about buying tickets off the street?
