Thanks, those were great. I spent the 23rd -26th in Wurzburg. What a beautiful city and a nice place to wind down before heading home.

Now, I just need to sift through my girlfriends 2.5GB of photos and get them posted for friends and family.

This one is my favorite out of all our pictures. We took it on the way into the stadium at Kaiserslautern. After the game, we wished it had been a real ref.

Great photos. Takes me back. I even found one with me and my brother in it. We are in one of the shots taken outisde the Brauhaus Hibernia pre-game. That party was off the hook. Heh. Totally forgot about the Globetrotters. Classic. Hopefully I'll get mine up in the near future.

Nice photos! I was on the same KEF-FRA flight and the same ICE train to Gelsenkirchen. See if any of your group are in these photos I posted to Flickr:

I've added a quartet of Drew Carey photos from G-town as well. Three others are from my US-Ghana set.

Here are some more for those that might be interested. Some might not be the right word. A lot ... might work better.

Great pics, Monty. Love the Ghana ones. Nice shots of us doing our "wrapping up/going away" chant off.

Too bad no pics of the a-holes trying to start with one of our boyz.

Thanks for the photos guys. In the excitement before the CR match, I managed to leave my camera in Dusseldorf, thus I have no photos from the day in Gelsenkirchen. I'd have to say I had more fun in the pre-game festivities there, and it seemed like the US fans as a whole were more excited than anywhere else, so I'm happy to have some record of the day now. I even managed to find myself in a couple of pictures.

Monty, gotta give you some props as well. You and your guys did a great job of leading all of the chants and cheers in Gelsenkirchen, which certainly contributed to the great atmosphere at the Hibernia. That was my first ever WC match, and I'll never forget the experience. My friend who was with me that day had attended the 98 matches in France and was amazed by the difference in the US fan attendance and behavior.

My pleasure. We were more excited in Gelsenkirchen because ... well, we hadn't gotten our asses handed to us yet. :o

It's people like Brent, Ed, the Jersey Brigade, the guys from DC like Jay and Marcel, and others ... it's quite a few of us that actually wind up starting stuff, and that's half the fun. Makes me very proud to be part of that "loud" group.

Great pictures! I loved your comments, very entertaining! :)

I think that fantastic beer you had at the street cafe in Cologne might have been a Gilden Kölsch. They do sell it, if the marquee is to be believed.
Did it come in a glass shaped like this one?

That one church you didn't know the name of in Munich is the Frauenkirche (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_Frauenkirche).

thanks for the comments. :)

in regards to the beer: i honestly don't remember about the glass. there is a german restaraunt with a nice beer selection not too far from my house. i'll go by there sometime this week and ask for a gilden kolsh and see if the mystery is solved. thanks for the tip!

Just ask for any Kölsch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6lsch), it's not that likely they'll have a Gilden, but maybe they have one of the others.
Anyway, if you ask for a beer in Cologne, a Kölsch usually is what you get. :)
