As my first and only venture into the Books forum, I pose this simple question to you all.
Like everyone out there, I like to pass the time while doing my business by partaking in a little light reading. I have a couple books and some magazines and some catalogues. All are essential for both AFLette and myself.
The books:
Salted Peanuts. The single greatest bathroom book ever assembled. It simply lists 1800 facts about anything and everything in no particular order. With no chapters or plot, one can take a minute to scan through the facs, or take an hour reading page by page. Fills whatever time slot you need to fill.
The Modern Humorist's One Nation Under Cheese. A simple guide to traveling in America written to the first-time visitor to our wonderful country. Absolutely hilarious stuff. Contains lots of pictures - always a bonus.
The Magazines:
Details. We got this cause it's one AFLette and I both like to read. It's not the best in the world, but it does the job.
Cincinnati Magazine. A magazine put out, obviously, about our fair ciry. Not a bad read at all. They have plenty of stuff on what to do in town and where to eat. Got this subscription for Christmas.
The catalogues:
The Land of Nod. It's a kids catalogue we got a while back. I got a reputation for painting all the nursaries for our family's kids a few years back and this catalogue is perfect for getting ideas for stuff I'll get roped into in the future. Also, with all those kids around, we are constantly buying gifts from there.
IKEA. Well, it's cheap. I'm sure most people here probbly hate IKEA for whatever reason, but it's good stuff for very little money - great for getting stuff for our place and for the bar.
Frontgate: It's cool stuff. I never buy anything from there, but I do occasionally buy stuff from their outlet store. Their grilling catalogue is awesome, too.
We are constantly rotating the catalogues, but that;s what we have in there right now.
