That's funny...I thought Italy merely hosted the Cup in 1990. It turns out they won it, as well.

Bob Ford has done a really nice job this World Cup, but this is a pretty howling gaffe.

Youch, that one is going to sting when he finds out. The title is OK, but that one sentence at the end of the 5th paragraph kind of gives it up...

No. But I represent the Philadelphia Carpenters, who are the main players in the local consortium who purchased the papers. I think I'll let *them* know. ;-)

Seriously...I didn't bother to e-mail Bob because I am pretty sure many others have pointed out the error and wrote to him.

Wow, that's famous? I was hoping for curing cancer, eradicating AIDS, hell, I'd settle for him fixing the budget mess next door in Jersey. Sighhhh.

And here I thought you were referring to my recently published article in Soccer History magazine, Issue 14 (Spring 2006). A very nice quarterly magazine from England, by the way, if anyone can find it. They're not on the web, though.
