USA captains project

Hey, I don't know if anyone has this information, but I would like to make a list who has worn the captain's armband for the USA in every single international that we've played. The hard part that you can't find easily is when the captain is subbed off, who takes over for the remaining minutes?

So I need your help. Let's start with the years 2000-6, because those will be the easiest to figure out. All these matches should be on someone's tapes here. No guesses please, I can do that myself. This is to figure out the answers without a shadow of doubt.

Ok, I found this match on a tape, and it indeed was Claudio Reyna with the armband. Not unexpected, I just wanted proof. If I can't find it online, then it needs to be verified.

So you need to know the person who took the captains armband after the starter has been subbed off? That will be hard.

I can help with starters wearing the armband in the Arena Era....only unsure of two matches during that time including match in Bolivia Jan. '99.

I'm a bit busy with DVDing all these WC matches right now. I might be able to help some time down the line.

Tunisia in 2000...Cobi Jones captain...subbed at the half. Not sure who took over

Haiti in 2000...Reyna captain, played whole match

Ecuador in 2001...Reyna captain, played whole match

Paraguay in 2003...Keller captain, played whole match

Thanks. But I was looking at the Paraguay game, and Reyna actually came on as a sub for that one. So maybe he was handed the armband?

Hmm...I'll have to check to see what other matches where Reyna came on as a sub in the past few years.

OK, the only other match where he came on as a sub on this list is the 2000 Ireland match.

True, good point...will have to check that. I suppose it is possible he might have taken the armband when coming in. Only other match during the Arena Era (up through 2005...I've slacked off a bit during 2006...need to catch up) for Reyna as a sub was against Ireland in '00 (US Cup).

Ireland in 2000...Brad Friedel was captain, played whole match (but Reyna was subbed in as mentioned before).

Brazil in 2001...Tony Meola was captain, played whole match

Mexico in 2001...Earnie Stewart was captain, played whole match
