while the signing of Jeffers did nothing for me, this one is a bit more promising.... (http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10303~855182,00.html)

Good news.
The deal is 4 year.

Good signing. He should get the number 10 shirt. It now seems as if Wigan will get relegated next year, they've lost both Bullard and Roberts.
But Why Jeffers? Unless hughes can transform him like how he did to Bellamy.

Well, we didn't pay an money to get Jeffers, and his contract is heavily incentive based, so if he doesn't work out, we really haven't lost anything. With that said, I hope we're in the market for another striker.

Dont worry about us we'll be fine without Roberts and the much overhyped Bullard - all running, no substance.
Got a decent player in Roberts though. Is he likely to start next season because in all honest i cant really see him topping what he scored this season, especially playing alongside Kuqi or Jeffers.
With Roberts and Jeffers up front you might be looking at the "F" column in the league table still being in single figures at Christmas.

That's a bit dramatic. Have you been writing for the Sun? :D
I have a feeling we'll be in for another striker, so don't be too bold with the predictions yet. ;)

At least we didn't spent £5.5M on Emile Heskey...
Roberts could be good for us, and he reportedly cost about £3M, which ain't bad. We're probably still looking for another striker, but Roberts is a good pick up.

Hughesy's done a good bit of business with Jeffers and Roberts, and even better business by leaving that plonker Heskey alone. Jeffers is shite and I doubt we'll get any more out of him than we got out of Bothroyd two years ago, but incentive based contracts are the best contracts for a club so I'm fine with it. If we get 5 goals out of him that would be gravy. I would just hope that he doesn't start 15 games to get those 5...
Roberts is a good buy at 2.25 mill (that's the figure I've seen most consistently). He's not gonna be a true #1 but he's a good secondary striker. Hughes has to find a first rate striker or else our UEFA experience will be short lived and the domestic league will be more of an adventure than it was last year.
Paul Gallagher's been shipped off on loan to Stoke for a full season so I think thatm pretty much spells the end for him as a Rover. No word about Derbyshire, though, but he needs more seasoning than Gally so he'll probably be sent out on loan as well.
Pre-season friendlies are starting up and I hope that Hughesy's not done in the transfer market. I don't even think Mido will solve our problems up front, but it'll be a better story with him than without. let's just hope the saga ends soon and Rovers know one way or the other whether he comes along to Ewood or stays at Roma...
