The footballing world has clearly been turned on its head when Germany, Germany, is the most attack-oriented team left in this World Cup. Huh?

Let me preface this: I don't like European teams. I don't like Germany (and I'm German by ancestry), but the scary thing is, I'm going to root for them. Not that I have anything against the way France plays but c'mon, it's France.

Portugal: After that Netherlands game I was against them, because they, like the Dutch, showed up to play an American football match and not the beautiful game. That continued today against the English.

Italy: It's Italy.

Any support will do, although I can't say there is a lack of it in Germany.

I've been to Germany twice, once in 2004 during the Euro Cup, and I have to say, as much as I love the people, they were some of the most depressed (and depressing) football fans I've ever seen. Even in the lead up to this Cup, fans I saw interviewed on television talked with the same kind of the language they used in 2004. It's nice to see that the country finally believes in their team. But they aren't my favorite team. They're my favorite team in the semis. Wasn't quite sure what you meant, since the first couple posters were German and Germany was doubtless their favorite team in both regards.

In physics f.e. you standarize a function in order to have a max. value of 1 or 100 instead of 35,657678.... Then it's just easier to calculate. But it's not that important. ;)
