Good game though. I thought they looked much better with him out. I dont understand the substitutions by Sven though. Hopefully McClaren will not play favorites.

I'm not gonna say anything about Rooney but without Beckham's goal against Ecuador, England might not be here consider how crappy English players at taking penalty. Lennon played more attractive football but he couldn't score goal, something Beckham can do ;)

How many goals did England score without Beckham? That's the bottom line. Lennon is a great prospect who looks to have replaced SWP in the pecking order. Despite that he is still young, inexperienced, has questionable end product and I don't think he can perform to that standard over a full 90 minutes. He's an impact player to be used from the bench, at least until Beckham stops producing. After that we will see if he is ready for the role of being a starter.
