What an absolutely fantastic game. A spectaular advertisement for the sport. Really, really great skill on display.

Congrats to France, congrats to Brazil, congrats to everybody that watched. A somewhat disappointing cup finally got its match of the tournament.

Final thought: Zidane was pure genius, this should solidify his legend.

France played a nearly flawless game. Ribbery worked his ass off and was very productive. Zidane is one of the greatest players in the history of the game. He was glorious.

But the best thing about this match was the refreshing lack of cynicism and the quiet, confident match management by the ref. One of my favorite matches of the tournament.

Congrats to France.

I don't understand how a team full of megastars does nothing for 85 minutes of the game. Terrible performance by Brazil. They did not play their usual attacking game and France won this in the midfield.

The ref might have been a bit soft on Brazil at times. But he was very compact and solid. I liked him. Yeah. Didn't do anything to destroy the game.

Best team won. Please Brasil fans, accept defeat and do not try to pull off some conspiracy nonsense again. Brasil played damn good defense all tournment, but today we saw another great defensive team that took over. Brasil had ZERO shots on goal until the last 5 minutes - thats unbelieveable. Zidane is a legend, and I hope France wins it all. I will be rooting for them. Ronaldo should be given a verbal lashing by the press for not taking this WC serious - he was digustingly out of shape. Ronaldinho choked in this WC. Guys like Dida, Cafu and Roberto Carlos do not deserve this from teamates who lack heart, and this is why Brasil lost - they lacked heart in all their victories and loss.
