Right let me get this straight.

I will not hesitate to ban anyone who takes this thread OT, resorts to insults or trolls this thread. If you want to slag England off then go to the Portugal forum, you'll find plenty of likeminded people there.

This thread is pro-England, like it or lump it.

Pheww, about time ;)

Mourinho's thoughts:

http://wc2006.telegraph.co.uk/Document.aspx?id=3BAFE810-790A-4661-8810-362571D6A23B

England lineup should be:

------------Robinson

Neville--Ferdinand--Terry--Cole

------------Hargreaves

Beckham--Gerrard--Lampard--Cole

--------------Rooney

Portugal are going to gamble on Ronaldo apparently.

.

I don't see that team conceding too many, but I do worry about where the goals will come from.

Thats okay, we were never going to thump them anyway.

1-0 or 2-1 will do fine.

Just win.

you know when you read that article about the portugal/porto midfield, it suddenly doesn't seem such a victory for a minnow, their champions league success. They were all unknowns them of course. But what a midfield 3.

Porto had good players. They were lucky against Man U, but they weren't the minnows people made them out to be, they were no Greece.

I’d settle for a game in which ‘just win’, but I’d really like our quality players to cut loose and show some style :D

Big games and world class performances from the Coles, Terry, Rio, Gerrard, Lampars and Rooneh would make me happy

ok. just do it baby. Hargreaves is gonna produce the game of his life clogging up that mid, which is gonna leave Lampart and Gerrard running rampant up front, and Rooney is gonna be a wonder-boy , and the combined weight of the 3 of them plus Joe Cole is gonna buckle the portly d's knees.

Thats my story and im sticking to it. :) cmon, lads!!

i wish both teams luck, and hope for a good clean game with now dirty fouls or .incidents of the like'.

i also hope, that whatever team wins, that lousy hooligans don't ruin it for everyone.

and having said that, good luck to all and may the best win.

Ty both, it should be a very good, very close game. Both teams have tons of skilled players and a lot of heart.

Come on England!

I'm really hoping to see Lampard show up today. Without Deco they should be able to control the midfield. Oh, and I haven't seen the rosters yet, but is Crouch starting? Rooney is amazing, but placing him as a lone striker is alot to ask from a guy just coming back to form.

Exactly, though if England get beyond Portugal they will have to come up with two great performances.

I like the way we're finding Rooney, if this keeps up, it's only a matter of time.....
