Italy will win this game. They have the best goalie in the tounament and they will win this game. France Vs Italy in finals, book it!!!!!!!

Im convinced that italy can advance to the finals if this game does not end up in pk. Its either gonna be a 1-0 (maybe 2-0, if they score a late counter attack goal) victory or a 0-0 or 1-1 draw (where italy loses in pk).

It will be a boring match. I guess Italy wins: 0,5-0. :D

Hopefully man!! i always believed myself that we will go very far- nobody can even imagine it. so against ukraine, we got 3 - 0 so why cant we beat germany? germany played very well today; we played very well as well so its gonna be a great game but i am hoping and believing we will win at least 2-0.

I disagree. I think it will exciting, specially if there is a goal in the first half. Germany are playing attacking and using the fans very well. Klose is playing well (what a great goal it was today). Italy have shown they can play up tempo, and can play with excitement. They may be more counter attack v. Germany, but I see this as Germany probing and probing and Italy counter attacking. I would not be surprised to see the final score be 3-2, though I doubt that will happen.
This is subject to change, but I am gonna go with Germany.

'cause it's Ukraine!
Maybe had Italy actually scored a goal on their own (not in PK) in the Australian game, I might have more faith on the Italian team pulling a win against Germany.
Remember, you have to score a goal to win a game.
Catenaccio is not going to work against Germany, if you go into PK shootout, Germany wins.

What occurred last time means absolutely nothing.
A friendly and a semi-final are two different things. There are possibilities of choking now.
Besides, the friendly was in Florence, the semifinal will be in Dortmund, Germany.

Germany´s quarterfinal was a very intensive 120 min. battle, with main players Klose an Ballack injured, while Italy had a relative easy 90 min. game.
Now they both have only 4 days to recover, that could make the decision.
Otherwise, the Germans are the fittst team of the tounament, maybe their fitness trainers and meds are good in regeneration too.

At times Italy have really impressed, rock solid defence and quality forwards. At other times they've looked really self-destructive, especially with those silly red cards. If they keep their heads they may have a bit too much for Germany, I don't think Lippi will make the poor substitutions that Pekerman did.
Germany on the other hand have been growing all tournament and are defending far better than they were before. Hard to bet against them.

Hi Naus---You made a good salient point! :) But, realize that "Gumba" is still living in the past! --I guess he's just trying to deflect people from his incorrect prediction that Argentina would beat Germany!

The latest appearance by the resident BS clown, Wotan . . . guaranteed laughs every time you read his posts.
How are the predictions going? I haven't really heard from you since you predicted Australia would beat Italy. Unlike you, my picks are actually realistic.
And BTW, I am most certainly living in the present. The semifinals are a nice place to be; maybe one of these days, one of the teams you actually support will get there. :p
And I'm really impressed with the vocabulary. You managed to use both "cogent" and "salient" in one week. Congratulations on the wonderful use of your thesaurus.

Um, I was referring to how Spain gave to France after winning 25 straight games. But thanks for suggesting Italy might give out next.
