What a great match this past sunday against Schalke! The best football match I've seen this year. Marcellinho really f'ed up big time, how do u miss two open nets in 1 game!? And Madlung is a great defender in the air and great at man-marking but he has awful ball skills, every attempted clearance is awful and one of his failed clearance lost Wolfsburg the points.
Anyway just want to give props to your team for a great match which I thoroughly enjoyed.:)
No, I think you should review the play where Madlung's clearance led to the goal. It was actually a perfectly timed run by Bordon, who Madlung had to cover, that left him in an awkward position to clear KK's through ball. He wasn't at fault on that play, imho.
And it should in no way detract from the excellent showing that he, Schäfer and Simunek made.
But Marcelinho's chance has to go down as one of the worst misses ever. I've watched it 5 times and still can't understand how he missed it.

It was pretty bad, but I think the ball bad-hopped him. I didn't save the DVR, but it had to.
Cost me in the Kicker league as well.

By the way, the atmosphere at Volkswagen Arena was unbelievable.....and that was via a television.

They must have been feeding in the sound from Frankfurt or something. "Unbelievable atmosphere" and "Volkswagen Arena" just don't go together.......
And I certainly didn't get that impression here. It wasn't "quiet", but "unbelievable" isn't the word I would use either.

Wolfsburg is probably the quietest stadium in the first league. But that'll change once Hoffenheim comes up in some years.

I think the people in the surrounding area of Hoffenheim (Mannheim, Heidelberg, etc.) may surprise you.
They won't be full out Hoffenheim fans, but I think they will fill that new stadium should Hoffenheim make it to the 1. Liga.......

Maybe the microphones were placed near the thousands of Schalke fans?!

it has to be said that when the stadium was at its loudest, it was the Schalke fans...But for the second half, i only heard the Wolfsburger really...they weren't as loud of course but they were decent.
They have the same problem we do i think

That's what I was thinking, but of course did not want to SAY that. ;)

Magath signed a new striker short before transfer deadline. Grafite 28 years old, picked up in Le Mans UC 72. Price is around 8 million euros. They sure know how to spend money in Wolfsburg.

Well, atleast the dreary Wolsburg nightlife would stop him having more underage sex-scandals

IIRC, he was in his car and and the girl refused to have sex with him and reported this to the police...but maybe I have a different Japanese player in mind. But then again, he was a U-21 player.

According to sport.ard.de (story 7/9) (http://sport.ard.de/sp/fussball/news200711/19/bg_wintertransfers.jhtml) Wolfsburg
is interested in signing Andreas Hinkel from FC Sevilla.
Hinkels agent is quoted: "Wolfsburg has very good chances, that
Andreas Hinkel decides to join them."

Goal.com is reporting that Magath is still interested in going after Jensi during the upcoming transfer window http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=501332. Perhaps Arminia can get him after what Klose did to their keepr last weekend. Ouch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNpA-x7Jlhg I'm not sure how, if at all, it would impact the Bundesliga, but an interesting story.

WOW!
Never expected Team VW to paste the Dortmund boys, but knowing that Dortmund had Woerns on the pitch and he gifted a few goals for the Carboys it seemed to be inevitable.

Seems Magath is after Cdn fullback ('allrounder' as the German press puts it) Paul Stalteri, who left Bremen at the end of their Championship season. Stalteri has had very little playing time with Tottenham this year, despite their unimpressive record.
