I saw Wolfsburg having the same problems BVB did with HSV. I don't think it was Josue so much rather than the entire back line being overwhelmed with HSV's speed and precision.

It is going to take physical play to slow HSV down.

Yup that is true but stopping that kind of play starts in midfield, with the defensive midfielder. Josue exposed Wolfsburg's defense, which also was very poor.

First loss in what, 20 home games? Still early in the season.

PS. We're in 4th pot in the Champions League Draw, which means we'll most likely be in the group of death.

where can you see the various pots for the CL draw?

It seems possible Wolfsburg could move to pot3 depending on these last qualifiers, but unlikely. If I'm reading it right they'd need 3 of Stuttgart, Olympiakos, Copenhagen, Levski to not make it to the group stages.

No sweeper is going to stop the HSV midfield on his own. His own midfield has to help.

I saw that when HSV beat us.

Yes, you have to clamp down on them in midfield or they will run over you. You will have to commit fouls and slow down the game.

But, they are going to burn out before the season is over too. Wait and see.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but doesn't Hamburg usually get out to a fast start only to fade towards the season?

And in regards to CL seeding, it's possible (although highly unlikely) that we could see the following group:

Man U
Real Madrid
Bordeaux
Wolfsburg

It has happened a time or two, but not consistently. Like last season. They got "hot" sometime around mid-season and petered out around the end.

What FR mentioned before is that "Labbadia Teams" are well-known for starting quickly and fading at the end.

It's happened to him at Greuther Fuerth and last season in Leverkusen.

Kicker reports (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/513627/artikel_Dzeko-und-Ziani-fetzen-sich.html) that Dzeko and Ziani got into a fight at training.

Apparently, Dzeko put his hand in Ziani's face and Ziani assumed a boxing position and took some swings at Dzeko before Misimovic, Madlung and Schäfer broke them up.

Below is a photo of the two after Wolfsburg's pre-season friendly with SV Wehen-Wiesbaden. Note the height difference. That had to be some funny shit! :D

It may just be part of their training regiment since they're playing Bayern and Olic next. :D

on a darker note: looks like Josue is out against Bayern and probably for a while after that. he needs surgery for a knee injury he sustained against HSV

Bad news for us. It's going to be tough without him.
