Borowski to Wolfsburg? Oh yes!

I don't think Dzeko will leave. Wolfsburg has made that pretty clear. The only thing that speaks in favour of a move is Dzeko's wish to play for Milan.
Is it wise to keep an unhappy player?
In this case I think it's better than signalling to the other players at Wolfsburg that they also might get out of their contracts if they just pushed for it. And this can't be in Wolfsburg's interest.
Furthermore, the pressure is on Dzeko and not Wolfsburg. If he stays and runs out of form Milan or any other bigger club won't go for him next summer. Hence, even though he is "unhappy", he will be extremely motivated next season.
And the recent public statements of Wolfsburg officials speak for themselves:
I: Mr Grühsem, a proverb says, you shouldn't stop someone who wants to go. Wouldn't it be better to let Dzeko go for a fair price?
G: No. The point is Dzeko has become a world-class player over the past 9 months. We bought him 2 years ago as a promising player. His development under Magath was outstanding - no doubt. Dzeko has a contract. If we had finished in between 3rd and 7th place he wouldn't be a topic now. But by winning the Bundesliga he got into the radar of several clubs.
I: Have you spoken to him?
G: No. All players went on holiday after the championship and will come back next week. That's why we haven't spoken to Edin within the last 14 days. Next week all of us will sit down at a table and talk. At the moment too much noise is made by agents and advisors. Fact is: we have not received an offer. Not even from Milan.
I: Will Dzeko definitely wear a Wolfsburg jersey next season?
G: Yes. We want to explain to him that he is an important corner stone in our team. The keyword is: Champions League. It will cost a lot of energy. As a club you need world-class players on several positions. With Grafite and Dzeko we have a striking partnership which has already proven its class. That's why a transfer is out of question this summer.
I: Is the squad strong enough for the CL?
G: The squad is strong. But in order to make it strong enough, the manager has to make some new signings. In the CL you not only need quality on the pitch but also on the bench.
I: Mladen Petric, Jan Huntelaar and Javier Saviola are said to be on your list. Is that true?
G: Every day, people start to speculate about new names. The players we are considering have not been discussed in the press yet.

I will laughing my ass of if he doesn't score 20 goals next season. Give me a break, no one can become world class in one season. You need consistency with great play, the hype train just keeps getting more and more ridiculous.

I have to agree with you there.
One season does not a superstar make......

I have to say, I really rate Dzeko. He seems to be the real deal. However, it's true that so far, he only had one great season...well, basically it wasn't even that, it was the second half of the season that was exceptional.
So I think, maybe Wolfsburg should think about letting him go. Who knows if they'll ever get any sum close to what's offered now. I mean Wolfsburg would still have strong forwards, even with Dzeko gone, plus they still seem to be interested in Petric. If they'd get Petric and sold Dzeko, they'd probably go out with a surplus of almost €20m, which they could invest in another reenforcement.
Wolfsburg has money but they don't have success internationally or prestige so it makes sense for them to keep Dzeko for another season and help them achieve good results in the CL even at the risk of losing a lot of money.
If I was in charge at Wolfsburg I'd keep him another season.
Also I don't hik Dzeko is the type of character to make a fuss, he's not a diva. Yes, he wants to join Milan but I doubt he feels "punished" for having to play another season with the players he made the CL with.
God, I can't believe I'm even writing in this thread.

Guys, your new kits are up at footballshirtculture.com
Good looking kits. The W moved to adidas and have the Houston Dynamo design, only done better. That crazy design is for 2 colors only.
The third one in the all too fashion neon yellow lemon... well Dortmund won the CL with that color so I guess it would bring the W some luck...
Oh and BTW congrats on the title!!! :) That black Volkswagen Beetle must be happy... :D

Ugh... I was hoping they wouldn't use this template.
Back to the Dzeko discussion. From what I've heard VfL is asking for about $40M transfer. Now, all sources do say that Dzeko wants this move as it is his dream to play for the club. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out.

I don't know where you heard that. It is bullshit. VfL has never "asked" for anything. They have insisted all along that Dzeko is not for sale.
Dzeko himself confirms at this link. (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=657777&sec=transfers&cc=5739)

Danke.
No problem. I hope Dzeko is a professional and produces for you guys this season.
I think he knows if he wants to get to Milan, the best way to do so is to keep producing for Wolfsburg.

I like all 3 kits especially the CL one. I could jog at night and be seen by aliens in their spaceships wearing that one.:p

Please tell me there is 0% chance I would ever find those kits on ebay or in classic soccer kits type stores as I wouldn't be able to refrain from getting them.:p
Speaking of BVB, I will have to go in the kit thread for them as I am impatient.
I am going to have to find more space for my kits.

That's the only one like, probably because it reminds me of the highlighter green 2001/2001 Puma jersey.
