As I read somewhere, look at the teams that have won it and have done well recently(Zenit, CSKA, Donetsk, Kiev). They start their seasons much later than most Western European teams.
I believe the Russian league plays a Spring to Fall schedule, however the Ukrainian League runs Summer to Spring. But I get what you're saying, the winter break for those leagues is pretty big.

Galliani crying to the media on why you won't accept their offer for your Bosnian star. Found it amusing to say the least! :)

He was whining that Wolfsburg didn't accept a 22m euro bid + one of Milan's crappy players as part of an exchange. He warned them that if they don't consider it, they will go for another striker. Wow, what thread that is! :D

I wouldn't want to go to Milan in their current state. They are too old. They lose Kaka. They might lose Pato. I would rather stay in Wolfsburg for at least another year or two.

AC Milan is my favorite Italian team, but you are exactly right about them at the moment.
And it seems Galliani & co. don't have an effin' clue of what to do next......

Their team looks like a mess. They don't seem to really have any sort of plan whatsoever. I can't believe they put the blame on Ancelloti.

there really isn't much they can do. milan don't generate enough revenue to compete with the 6-7 richest clubs in europe and berlusconi stopped subsidizing the club 5-6 years ago.

Without meaning to drag the thread offtopic, but OK, they did great with Ancelotti to win the two CL titles.
But domestically?
In 8 years, 1 Serie A title. Considering the ability of the squad he's had in each of these years, that's a pretty poor showing.

Shit man, I had it but I'll look and sent it to ya if I find again.
They are still after the Bosnian sensation by the way, we will see what happens. He just got an extension, I don't see how he would leave though?! A contract can't be that laughable would it?

What the contract does is give Wolfsburg more power. Dude, remember, even if Dzeko wants to leave, he still can't go unless Wolfsburg lets him go.
The thing is, most clubs would rather let a player go than keep him around unhappy.
That's why Man U. finally sold Ronaldo to Madrid. Remember, he wanted the leave the past two years. Man U. told him no and he knew SAF wouldn't sell.
In Dzeko's case, AC Milan has to tough to say no to. They are still one of the biggest names in the sport.
But even if he says yes and Wolfsburg says no, Wolfsburg has to consider if they want an unhappy Dzeko on the team next season.
Dzeko can't "just leave" under any circumstances, so yes, the contract does mean something.

If this is indeed the case, it baffles my mind. Milan would seem to draw alot of people to it's city. First off, they had alot of known players(albeit older players) and the city is a nice city to visit.
I would say that the only knock other than any dumb business decisions would be the fact that they have to share the stadium with Inter Milan. That definitely would be a negative for both teams money wise.

Dzeko is all but gone, Wolfsburg knows now is the time to sell...
it's just a matter of finding each other (milan and wolfsburg).
dzeko wants to be in milan.
milan wants dzeko in milan.
The deal will happen.

Usually, I would agree.
However, I can't this time.
This one doesn't happen unless Wolfsburg can get Petric.......

A pity that this fantastic team stays together. I think they had us in the Champions League a lot of pleasure.

This team needs to improve, not just keep their players together. Another creative/goalscoring midfielder is a must if they want anyone to care they are in Champions League imo.

True on the midfielder EQ.
However, they do need to keep the team together for that midfielder to matter.

Yes, they need a midfielder. They need Borowski.
You guys know just where to get him :wink:wink: :D
