I remember Kahlenberg from a youth tournament a couple of years back. He absolutely tore it up but never really made a move to a big club afterwards, always wondered when he would.
He signed from Auxerre, no?

Some people, mostly kids, might have just started following the league this particular season and found that Wolfsburg for example played an attractive style of football that just happened this year to win the Bundesliga.
I really don't care what gets someone initially to following a team as long as they then stick with their team thru thick and thin from that point forward.

Yup, which is, no offense, no big club. I thought for sure after his U-21 performance some years back he would be snatched up by a bigger club.

Anyone know what their new Adidas kits will look like for the 09/10 season?? The new Bayern Home has already been released and one of Schalkes new Adidas kits is floating around on the internet. Are they going to have (3) new ones since they'll be in the Champions League next season??

Even a club like Hanover has 3 different shirts... Since they can't use one from last season due to their sponsoring change Wolfsburg will get 3 new ones for sure.

Wolfsburg isn't a big club either, so you can consider this a semi-lateral move.

These days, I believe Wolfsburg is "bigger", or shall we say, "more important" than Auxerre.
Like Borussia Dortmund, AJ Auxerre had its heyday in the late 90s.
Auxerre may not be a "big club" in some of your eyes, but they certainly aren't a "small club" either.
I hope Kahlenberg does well for VfL.

I think he's a good player, but I'm not sure what he adds. He's not better than Misimovic and Josue, and Hasebe played really well towards the end of the season.
Could it be that Misimovic is on his way? Because Kahlenberg would be a natural replacement for him.

Or maybe they were looking to add depth and have him as the "cover" player for Misimovic? This is, of course, assuming that Misimovic does not leave (which I highly doubt would happen, anyway).

it makes sense that they would be looking to add some more depth, what with the CL next season and all.
how crazy would it be for them to win CL their first time in it? i know it would never happen, but that would kick so much ass. :p

I just hope that amazing striker duo doesn't get broken up with one being transferred as obviously the rumors would have us to believe.
I wouldn't expect them to go all the way but it would be nice to see 1 or even 2(I can dream damnit) German teams going pretty far in the CL.

Isn't going to happen. Just remember that about 80% of what you read about transfers at this time of year are bad rumors and some flat out lies put out there to sell magazines, newspapers and to get hits on internet sites.

With the changes they are making, I think Bayern can and will go pretty far.
As far as Wolfsburg goes, this same Wolfsburg team crashed out of the freakin' UEFA Cup last season.
Losing Magath doesn't give me any confidence that they will do better in the CL without him.
On top of that, add the fact that new coach Veh totally crashed and burned in his CL appearance with VfB Stuttgart.......

Yeah, I understand about the rumors. I am going to start a good one right now that BvB has some info right now that will guarantee them the BL next season.:p
Yeah, I hope that teams don't go into the CL and are just pleased to be in the tournament rather than going all out.

I hate to break it to you, but all teams except Donetsk crashed out of the UEFA Cup. Wolfsburg lost to PSG, and yes, it was a bad series for them, however they won the group ahead of AC Milan and had favorable results leading up to the PSG encounter. What killed them as far as the UEFA Cup goes was the winter break. Of course, I also believe that having lost to PSG in the first knock out round allowed them to concentrate on the league play, which in turn helped them climb all the way from 9th position to the eventual championship.
If Dzeko, Grafite, and Misimovic stay then I believe they have a shot to qualify out of their group.

That's all nice, but I stand by my opinion. Thanks for the education though.
Did I somehow strike a nerve with you again?
I don't mean to, but I also think you, Dzeko, Grafite and Misimovic will find out that winning in the Bundesliga and winning in the CL are two completely different things......
The good thing about Armin Veh is that he has already found this out the hard way.

The Uefa cup is a poison chalice, the way it's set up, it's surprisingly difficult to win and not crash burn. Way too many games and little financial incentive makes the competition difficult to take seriously by clubs.
As I read somewhere, look at the teams that have won it and have done well recently(Zenit, CSKA, Donetsk, Kiev). They start their seasons much later than most Western European teams.

these forums are a place for discussion where varying opinions are obviously going to show up.
Lets not always get so offended if one's opinion differs from your own.

this.
and if getting booted from UEFA cup paved the way for the BL win, then UEFA cup can suck it.

No. I guess my responses just translate to '@$$hole speak'.

Obviously. But I guess we can always ask you and Stephan Chapuisat about it.
