I didn't think they did too much, but they sort of developed Reyna, so I will blame them for all his inadequacies ;)
Actually I think if he stayed in Germany he would have been a better player.

The üroblem with them and developing players is that most young players in that area would rather chose to play for Brunswick, Hanover or Bremen, since those clubs have 'more tradition' (and more fans in the area).

I could see that, plus some clubs just can't develop players.
I'm hoping to get into Germany this April for a few days, so hopefully I'll find a way to get to a club.

How is Wolfsburg at developing players?
5. Yep, love my Passat ;)
I think they were much better before than they are now. As Borussia said, they tend now to spend money to bring in more experienced players, while their younger players are left to languish (see Maik Franz).
I have a Passat, too (2004 1/2). My sister had a Jetta and now has a "new" (restyled) Passat station wagon. Another sister has a New Beetle Convertible. My only real complaints about the Passat I have are that it's gas mileage in city driving (which is most of my driving) is a good three miles below advertised, and the purge valve tends to freeze once the weather turns in November/December, necessitating an annual trip to the dealer (the catalytic converter light goes on, so I don't have a choice but to go)--although it didn't freeze up this winter, so maybe I'm beyond that problem.

How is management?
So many teams are so poorly run, look at Dortmund, Kaiserslautern... West Ham.. just depressing.
I've got the 2005 Wagon, 4motion. Gas mileage isn't great, but I knew with the 4motion it would suffer. Handles great, nice ride, and great on the highway.
Go Wolfsburg!

Nice game today. Grabbing a point against the Divers.

Go Wolfsburg!
I have the sedan in 4motion. I expected to take a hit on gas mileage because of that, but I'm consistently three miles below what VW lists as the mileage for city driving (about one mile below for highway driving). 2005 is the last year of the "old" Passat, right? Strictly from an aesthetics standpoint, I like the "old" Passats (and Jettas) more than the new Passats and Jettas (although the new Jetta is growing on me a bit, and I think the new Passat wagon actually looks better than the new Passat sedan). The new Passats and Jettas look too much like Hondas (or more accurately, Acuras).
Good result for Wolfsburg. To get a point off a streaking Schalke is an achievement.

My feelings on the Passats as well. I love my wagon, and I wanted to look at a Passat sedan for the wife, but I think if she agrees, it will be a Jetta instead.

Key is getting points off those you are supposed to.
What did you think of Kamani Hill?
He looked lost to me.

Marcelinho strikes me as being the Manny Ramirez of German soccer. He has plenty of "Manny being Manny" moments, but is consisently a very productive player between the white lines.

I've been thinking the same thing every single Wolfsburg game i've seen since he came.

Perfect way to put it. In the seasons before it went bad Berlin, I thought he and Ballack were the top two players in the Bundesliga.
Part of me still believes that one of the things that happened with him in Berlin is that he believed the press rumors that Bayern were going to buy him to replace Ballack and when that didn't happen, he blamed Dieter Hoeness for it.

I think he got more pissed that he was never able to get Hertha to the Champions League too, despite coming close 2 times.

Going to Turkey and joining Wolfsburg somehow solved that??

Stupid foul by Madlung, but anyone who ever saw him in Berlin knows he's prone to stupid moments like that.
I think without it, VfL comes out of there with a point.

I dunno, but I think the reported interested from Bayern never fully surfaced and I think no one else wanted to touch him...why don't you think that most reports of him leaving towards the end of last season were to Palmeiras, Sao Paolo etc.
I think he wanted to stay in Europe and Trabzonspor was the best option at the time. Really.

Here's what I got on that situation. Cannot reval the source. Probably nothing new here.
Apparently, Marcelinho got wind of the Bayern rumors and was waiting for them to come get him.
When they didn't, he got upset and blamed Dieter Hoeness for ruining his chance to move to Bayern.
According to my source, Dieter Hoeness did no such thing and he told Marcelinho so, but Marcelinho didn't want to hear it.
He thought Hertha just didn't want to lose another outstanding playmaker to Bayern.
And it seems the truth was Bayern were never interested, choosing to try to stick with Deisler to move into that slot.
Marcelinho never got over it and forced the deal to Turkey because Hertha were not prepared to sell him within the Bundesliga for less than he was worth.
I think Hertha knew he'd eventually be back in the Bundesliga, but not this soon.
And for me, Marcelinho should know that no one fears him being back with Wolfsburg, although he does make them quite stronger.
If he really wanted to piss off Hoeness, he should have joined Dortmund.
But Wolfsburg paid more. Can't blame the guy for that. :)
