That's something. Too many Italians flop when they move out of the Serie A.

Some Serie A fans criticised Barzagli for going to Wolfsburg instead of a club like Fiorentina but if things continue to go Wolfsburg's way, Barza might actually be in a league winning side!

I'm assuming that the list has all the Bundesliga defenders (right-backs, left-backs and centre-backs). I can't believe Simunic is on top!

Yea the Bundesliga is an underrated destination but I think its worked out quite well for Barzagli. Had he moved to Fiorentina he would now be fighting for a spot in the new Uefa Cup while Wolfsburg is on the cusp of winning the league and entering the Champions League.

He slotted in quite well at Wolfsburg and their success is really a result of great team work and each player complimenting each other.

And I think everyone is a bit surprised with Simunic this year, nobody expected his or his team's form to be as good as it has been.

You might get it but it won't be easy. Wolfsburg on the other hand, baring a huge disaster, are almost guaranteed to play in the CL.

i still think it was a good move for himI actually considered Fiorentina to be a dark horse for Serie A title but Genoa and you guys are in a tough battle fourth spot. To everyone's surprise, Barza may be having the last laugh come next CL season.

I follow the Azzurri more than the Socceroos but his performance against Australia at the World Cup was low. Croatia and Hertha fans tend to think he offers more than just cynicism though.

There are better defenders than him in the league and the Kicker ratings are not the be all end all in measuring the quality of players accurately. He is just having a solid individual season combined with being part of an extremely well organized and fortunate team.

Another well fought win for Wolf, playing like champs. It will be very tough to beat them to the title this season! :(

You need luck to win the title though and games like this REALLY make me afraid.

Yea If Wolfsburg do end up winning the league I would give him the Player of the Year award but we all know that will go to Grafite.

i know man today he had two sitters and missed.he should not get poy award or top striker because he is not.misimovic should get poy and ibisevic should get top scorer it took grafite to score 18 goal 6 games since ibisevic got injured.

Yeah. Simply because most "reporters" and fans don't think past the noses on their faces.....

Should Wolfsburg manage a 11th straight victory next week, they would set a new Bundesliga record. Previously, Borussia Mönchengladbach managed 10 straight victories in one season (1986-87), a record just equalled by Wolfsburg. The record of most straight Bundesliga wins in one or more seasons is 15 (set by Bayern 2004-05 to 05-06).

I could bet they will lose in Cottbus next week (although I don't hope it for selfish reasons).

Nevertheless, their current series is very impressive.

That may be so but you have to keep in mind that Grafite was injured before the winter break while Ibisevic didn´t miss a single game before he got injured in that test match. Ibisevic scored 18 goals in his 17 league games so far, thats impressive but Grafite had 20 goals after his 17th game (vs Bayern Munich) and now has 22 after 19 appearences. Still a better goal/game ratio than Ibisevic.

How many penalties has he scored, I believe it's quite a decent number.

Seven. He's converted every one he's taken this season.

Ibisevic also did, but he only took two.

Well, let's not forget how lucky Bayern had been for many times in the past...
