Thanks!looks unfortunate, you'll just miss the trophée de champions (supercup) which kicks off the season on july 30, a match between OL and PSG (gerland 5:45pm) and also auxerre's and OM's intertoto matches since both play the 15th at home and the 22nd away. but all teams have prep friendlies in that period. note that these are almost never played at home (for example, OL is playing in dijon, grenoble and stuttgart), but with a little digging you'll find some pleasant little matches to watch, with autograph opportunities.

So does the French season usually kick off by mid-August? I was hoping to go to Paris this fall, but with a little one on the way, no travelling. So we'll go next summer.

The wife already has agreed to let me catch one match while we are there.

Exactly, Le Tour de France will be taking place July 1-23.I am sad to see all of the great cyclists go out to doping (Ivan Basso, and Jan Ullrich) when they might not have done it.

Indeed. Even if you know nothing about cycling, it would be a pity to miss the Tour. Arrival the 23rd on the Champs-Elysées.

Ok i'll be in paris from the 17th through the 20th. Then I'll be in giverny/Dinard on the 21st; after that in Loire Valley on the 22nd-23rd. On the 24th I'll be in Nice until hte 27th.
