Racism is everywhere. To single out Spain is downright ridiculous.

Agreed, Spain is not more nor less racist than any other country it's just that they are the ones that care the least about political correctness.
I don't think you can sungle out any exceptionally bad fans, maybe the dutch for what their awful behaviour during Côte D'Ivoire's national anthem.

Yea, racism does exist everywhere but so far, out of the crowds in the tournament games, spanish fans have been the worst...
To jeer during the anthem, hold signs of Zidane's retirement and spitting on him as he came out is disgraceful.

I definately go with Spain.
You have a coach who was caught on TV uttering a racial slur towards Henry and he is still kept on as coach of the NT.
Obviously exceptable behaviour in that society.

In the France - Spain game I couldn't help but notice how many black soccer players there were in the France lineup (and that goes for England, Portugal and other countries as well and some countries like Spain and Italy have no black players but high immigration so I kind of sense some reason there (come to think of it, Germany too.. only have 1 on the sub bench I think).

I remember when spain played england they made monkey noises when ever a black player touched the ball.
And england do have black and half cast players on thier team: Campbell, wallcott, lennon, ferdinand, ashley cole, King(injured) , Sean wright phillips & Defoe( not taken)

the worst fans gotta be those kangaroos & the koreans...
they make allot of noise and party all the time but dont know nothing about football. they just hope they win so they can go crazy.
they think they have good teams and accuse other teams of cheating while everyone wants to win.

Some of the statements here are based on prejudices,
that´s not good.
Every country has good and bad fans,
there is no one with "the worst fans".

Pretty funny how it was a black man that scored the goal that knocked them out of the tournament. :D

So what are you trying to tell us? That European countries that don't feature many colored players tend to be racist?
There is a simple explanation why countries like France and England tend to have far more colored players in their teams than countries like Spain, Italy and Germany. The reason is that the aforementioned all had long-lasting and large colonies in Africa and other regions predominantly populated by colored people, while Spain, Italy and Germany did not have anything comparable. The relatively huge number of colored people living in France and England was a consequence of these countries' colonial past.

few years ago a german national player got monkey noises, and could have started a new career on selling bananas that were thrown at him at bundesliga matches.
guess who ?
yeah, you're right, its oliver kahn.
i guess if he would have played in england, some may have called him a nazi, like it happens to lehmann occasionally during premierleague matches (says he).
personally i dont like german masses chanting "without holland, we'll go to berlin". allways makes me push that loudspeaker-with-an-x-on-it button.

You haven't seen Marcos Senna then I guess?

I'm not suggesting that Spain and its fans are not racist. I lived there for a year and a half and witnessed it first hand. The monkey noises were brutal. I was friends with a black Brazilian and we used to attend matches in Spain and we would talk about the monkey noises. He didn't seem to mind as much as I did, because I really don't think many (outside of North African black immigrants - who do experience discrimination) blacks in Spain are confronted directly with discrimination. It's more subversive, herd-like behavior such as the monkey noises for black players that really shows what most Spaniards think.
It happened with Eto'o in Zaragoza last year, almost to the point where he left the field. It's ridiculous and needs to be stamped out of Spanish soccer altogether, but I find it funny that they have black players on their teams, even to the point of Senna on la seleccion now, and they still make the monkey noises at the opposing black players.
Here's what it's going to take. It's going to take players in La Liga, not just the black players, or even players like Senna, speaking out repeatedly against the monkey noises. If that doesn't work, they need to start shutting down stadiums wherever it occurs. But the Spanish FA has no backbone, so that will never happen.
