I would like to know more about the mexican defense we played the other day and how it compares along with the german defense.
Especially a man to man comparison of mexican and german defense will help us judge how good we might do.
If anyone know the style in which both teams defend it will be good so we can analyse our chances.
As far as i ve seen the holland had a better defensive setup against us their back 4 closing our forwards, the reason i think we did not score in that tight game.
Moreover i think our forwards will get more chances than in the mexican game with many openings in the german match.
Hope we make it to the finals.
Vamos Argentina.

mexico defense-
a 5-3-2 or 3-5-2, depending on how u look at it.
3 centrales, 2 wingbacks. 1 contencion , 2 wing midfielders.
there zagueros are fast, but not very physical. they are solid and not very easy to pass. IMO, lavolpes scheme was to run like crazy and double mark every argentine who got the ball.
german defense-
4-4-2
two centrales and 2 full backs. with two very good central midfielders.....
the two zagueros metzelder y mertesacker are good, but not that good. there slow and can/should be easily picked out by the likes of tevez y messi.
there fullbacks are strong IMO. lahm y friedrich are top notch. attack well and defend well.
there midfield is a tough battling one so watch out with the tackles' guys....wear them pads;)

They meant that it will be different but not necessarily easier. Mexico style does not suit our game at all. Watch the confederation cup game last year and you would see how comfortable we were in the midfield. I am expecting a tough game of course.

Ok then if their cbs are bit weak then we should opt for messi and crespo who can combine well and crespo can get into spots that saviola cant and messi can make the life difficult and make mesmerising passes to the cfs. Then we can sub tevez and aimar to more chances in the second half.
Vamos Argentina.

I think we should stick with Saviola and Crespo, the german centre backs are not the best as you point out, and I think those two are the best to find space behind the CBs, and latch on to the through balls from midfield.
If you remember, the first game, Costa Rica scored 2 goals against Germany with 2 through balls, which bisected their defence, since then, they are yet to be exposed to great Centre forwards going behind them, and quality through balls, both of which we are capable of.
