Well, it all depends on what kind of boot you want. Many high end cleats, or "nice" soccer shoes as you mentioned, are made of kangaroo leather. With kangaroo leather, the utmost level of care is needed for these boots to last and serve you well. With normal full-grain leather, less care is needed, since the leather is tougher. Full grain boots tend to last longer than kangaroo leather, but once again, both of them wont last long if you dont care for them. If you are looking for the type of boot where you can let dry on, look for a boot with a synthetic upper, such as TUNiTs. No matter what boot you get, its always good to just take care of them, even if they are synthetic. After all, they are your most important piece of equipment.

IMO, its not a good idea to ask how long other peoples boots have lasted, since even the most "durable"-branded boots have fallen at the mercy of bad habits and/or poor quality control. (And everyone's playing habits are different) Usually, if a good leather boot is taken care of, it should last you a good while, so if it breaks practically right away, exchange, exchange, exchange, as it is the manufacturers fault.

That being said (sorry for the long rant, just thought it was important), my suggestion for you is the TUNiT's, as you emphasized durablility, and since the TUNiT's are synthetics, one would assume that they would last longer than the rest. Also, in terms of performance and comfort, well thats pretty much up to you, and how you play.
