Not nearly as bad, but kind of similar. We had stayed in Essen for the Czech game. Our hotel was a short subway ride from the train station. We got back to the Essen train station about 1:30 am and the subway was closed. We weren't really sure in what direction the subway went from the train station. So we got a cab to take us to the subway station near our hotel. We couldn't remember the name of the hotel or the street address. Trying to explain where we wanted to go was interesting. Turns out the station was about a 10 minute walk and the cab ride cost 3 euros. :D
