You are overrating a lot of the players. Scaloni, for instance, was
poor in this game, he should get a 5.5. at most. Messi and Tevez
could get a 6.5, possibly a 7, as they were lively but didn't score a
goal.

you are really delusional guy.
i wouldnt give any except messi above an 8, i thought that scaloni played with alot of balls as well,
pato:7
ayala:7
heinze:5
sorin:5
scaloni:7
mascherano:8
cambiasso:5
maxi:7(for the goal)
riquelme: 5 (too slow, i though he should of done more alot more.
saviola:5 (didnt ge the ball too much)
crespo:5 (same as sasviola)
messi:8(showed why his the messiah)
tevez:6
aimar :8 (nothing espectacular but better than others)
the reason for crespo and saviola for the five is i didnt really notice them on the pitch and they had two solied chances and they were wasted, and never again was there named called out.

Pato: 7, Still showing why he's starter. He's confident and seems to be ready for nearly every shot.
Ayala: 7, not his best game but still solid.
Heinze: 4, seemed asleep at times lucky not to be red carded considering how many cards have been handed out so far. Lacked consistency, left Marquez unmarked.
Sorin: 7, Started slow but ended with some great covering
Scaloni: 4, Not a player we see much and it shows. I feel he was lucky to stay on the pitch when he bulldozed one mexican outside the box and later elbowed another in it. Not very good on crosses makes me miss Zanetti and his marking is quite week. Bring in Colo or Cufre.
Cambiasso: 7, sometimes he looked like Riquelme in the first half with some good through balls. Always running, great effort still not his best game.
Riquelme: 6, largely inneffective, however, delivered the first goal and did a good job, as always, holding up the ball.
Mascherano: 9, I can't say enough about this guy. He's a force on his own: the model holder. I'm so happy he recovered well for the WC. He'll need a repeat performance against Ballack and co.
Maxi: 9, quickly become the surprise of Germany. He's starting to make a name for himself as a scorer and his ET goal left me exhilerated: Absolutely beautiful. Also, he plays a decent 2-way game for someone meant to go up.
Saviola: 5, not terrible but not great, lacks Tevez's and Messi's conviction. Bring on either.
Crespo: 6 didn't exactly score the goal but he would have anyways. Suffered from Saviola's and Riquelme's perfomance and Mexico's defence.
Messi: 8, Unlucky with the offside call on the goal. Incredible dribbling. Drew 4 Mexicans on him. Lacked the support to create magic.
Tevez: 6, hard worker. Tried to be a little fancy. Come on Tevez, charge the mother#%$#@$ net.
Aimar: 7, on as a sub. Did well with the ball. Second best playmaker to Riquelme but did better against Mexico.

Abbondancieri 8. Another solid performance and made some key saves.
Scaloni 6. Defended reasonably well, but did not play the ball well.
Roberto Ayala 8. Another great game anchoring the defense.
Gabriel Heinze 5. Fought a lot, headed away lots of balls, but made two key mistakes that could have cost us the game.
Juan Pablo Sorin 6. Sometimes a bit imprecise, but played his heart out, joining the attack and coming back to defend.
Maxi Rodriguez 10. The hero and the man of the match because of his brilliant goal. Also played well throughout the match.
Javier Mascherano 7. Started a bit imprecise, but grew in importance as the match went on.
Esteban Cambiasso 6. Not particularly a noteworthy performance, but he didn't look bad either.
Juan Roman Riquelme 6. He had his moments and can always create danger with his passing and free kicks. But more is expected of him.
Javier Saviola 5. Didn't repeat his great performance from previous matches, and missed an easy chance, although the goalie should get some credit for that.
Hernan Crespo 6. Didn't come much in play, missed a great chance, but was responsible for the first goal, whether he touched the ball or not.
Carlos Tevez 7. Always dangerous and always fighting, but tries to do too much.
Pablo Aimar 7. Didn't get much time, but provided an alternative to Riquelme.
Lionel Messi 8. Had a legitimate goal taken away, and complicated the Mexican defenders constantly, forcing some fouls.

This is Ole's LOL :D ... you can e-mail the foker here: Antonio Serpa aserpa@ole.com.ar
Mascherano (9): Un quite fundamental, perfecto.

i think a lot of you, as always, are underestimating roman's contribution, it is profound what he does on the field, his v presence changes the whole course of the game, he is a marvellous player who in every game creates clear-cut chances, that is some accomplishment.
some of you don't like his style, fair enough, but ur missing the bigger picture.
we all know pato has had a solid tournament, last night, for the first time, there were signs of shakiness.
he fumbled one cross (so far he has been excellent on crosses), he made an ill-advised pass to heinze, and he let one shot go which narrowly missed the post, i'm not so sure he got his bearings right for that one.
he made two good saves and was otherwise solid, but from here on in he's going to have more to do, let's hope he keeps his good form because he has more than justified his number one spot.
ayala's contribution cannot be overstated, last night, he more or less held the defence together on his own.
also mascherano, his best performance so far, he's getting better and better, after cuchu went off he was doing the job of three players as he was covering both full-backs (and doing a better job than they were).
i've said it before, he's the player we can least afford to lose (even more than roman possibly) because we have no adequate cover for such an important role.
if anyone wonders why pato hasn't had too much to do, look no further than ayala and masche.

I know coaches are conservative and maybe Messi being young is erratic but if he had started and played as well as he did off the bench a Crespo / Messi pairing would by dynamite. Crespo gets in good spots and Messi and Riqulme would find him. It will be interesting to see if your coach shows the guts others aren't (including my US coach :( ).

Guys imagine if we had gago next to mascherano?!!!!!! that would have been a nightmare for other teams anyways i know scaloni is not a good player i agree but he played with heart and thats what counts! he played like he was playing for Argentina and gave it all he had! and a team with herat is a team that can win championships, but anyways hopefully they keep it up because riquelme and saviola played like they were playing for nothing!
