sorry pal, but what game were YOU watching?
scaloni is a donkey, no pace, no skill, no ball control.
all he knows how to do is foul.
hopefully this is the last we see of him in the tournament.

I have one word to say: DISASTER.
And I mean a terrible one. More so than Katrina or any other catastrophe.
And some people were complaining about Burdisso ? I would trade Scaloni, Coloccini and Cufre just to get that gem back.

Hah that's true but he was still horrible. Horrible tackles, turnovers, ext....
I really can't complain about Burdisso now. I hope he's fit in time for the Germany game.

Wrong. Heinze had one slip ( an unforgivable one) at the end of the first half. Otherwise he had a solid performance.

Marquez's goal? Heinze might have not been the one that had to mark him but he was right there in front of him he could have done something. He also commited alot of fouls that could have gotten him the second yellow. He was lucky. I love Heinze but this was not his day.

i agree dr. know., i love heinze, but he had an off day.
he was marking marquez, but was guilty of ball watching at the crucial moment and marquez got free of him, there was one camera angle that showed the whole play, heinze was at fault for their goal, marquez was his man, yet when he scores he's all alone.
also, heinze made one terribly mistimed header in the second-half and was generally careless, which is unusual for him.
he also did solid things too, which we've come to expect.

Marquez's gol is a hard one to defend.A double header in your teams area is hard to defend.First header in any case makes the defense pause and then is caught sort of off guard for a second and thats all you need to make a play just like they did.Remember if you can Germanys second gol vs Argentina in Mexico 86?

QUOTE]
As I said before, Scaloni did not have a bad first half. The rest of the game though was not good.
How many times was he beaten one on one in the first half? Not many.
As I said before he also made some good atacking runs in the first half, which is something that has been non existent for Argentina from the right flank so far in the WC.
I'm not trying to argue that he's a great player, had a great game or deserves to be in the starting lineup.
All I said was that he had a good first half, his overall marking was good and he made some good runs in the first half. I know what I saw.
What game were you watching pal?

I THINK that scaloni played well, he made some small passing mistakes, but in codigo f, Which they read my brother's email (first one) they said he didnt read the mexico tacticts well. other than that he put huevos and played decently well. alot better than roman, cuchu, heinze. lanacion.com said he was the second best player, maybe not the second but up there.

La nacion ratings are not reliable.
Watching the game again I realised that Ayala made Heinze look good in most situations. He covered him very well. But I still do not think that Heinze had a catastrophic game...not to the extent of Scaloni.

exactly peker, heinze didn't have a catastrophic game, it was just an off-day by his standards, he looked like a player coming back from a long injury, we mustn't forget this.
he was still a million times better than scaloni IMO, heinze did many great defensive things, things that hardly warrant a mention, because it's only what we expect from him and we take it for granted, these 'small' things are way beyond the capabilities of scaloni, that's the point.
for instance, late in the second-half, their left-winger put the ball thru scaloni's legs and crossed perfectly for their guy to score, it was an easy chance except heinze maade it impossible for him with a great aerial challenge that does just enough to ensure he heads it wide.
not once in his life will scaloni be capable of defending like that, yet no-one has mentioned it, because it's only heinze's mistakes that catch the eye, because we have become so accustomed to his brilliance.
it's not scaloni's fault, he tries his best, but he's nowhere near the standard required, as was apparent from minute one of last night's game.

The decision of playing Scaloni was bizarre. The guy would not even start for his club in Spain yet he is representing Argentina in a World Cup. He is a degraded version of Zanetti.
He likes to get into advanced position ( ineffectively so) and most of the time leaves too much space behind. I thought this was the main criticism against Zanetti
Coloccini would have done a much better job overall. Scaloni simply cannot mark or defend. He makes useless runs and his passing is disastrous. The Mexicans HUMILIATED him on more than one occasion. That is unacceptable and even shameful.
Sweating the shirt and making some effort in the recovery process is the LEAST I expect from any Argentinian who wears the blue and white shirt.
