OK these have to be the SMALLEST shin pads i have ever seen in my life. The question is how the hell does he get away with it? isnt there some kind of FIFA ruling that pads have to cover the majority of the shin? Because his just over under his knee. So he might just aswell not bother wearing any!

No, Im taking my referee class, and ther eis no specific requirement for size of the pads, you just have to have some on during play... Makes no sense to me though, I'm sure if he had a choice he wouldnt even wehre them.

As I've heard my whole life..
Those who don't hear, must feel..
And the lanky git will feel when someone snaps his legs in half, his future...

he can do it because he's from Germany, which makes him unbreakable.
couldn't care about his shinguards, but I love saying his name :)

He is quite fast and agile (for a German player)... perhaps he noticed that most of his challenges didn't involve his shin and decided not to bother. I also believe that he is probably a cyborg and has stainless steel shins :D
And... Germany has an excellent healthcare system if he does get injured. Not like the NHS with its cheeky nurses or something ;)

I think a Dixie cup cut in half would make for more padding.

...it's actually a small piece of paper that his moms wrote his name on for him, so if he has to sign autographs he can spell it correctly!

LOL Case:D
I mentioned this in the shinguard thread a while back becase i also couldn't believe it! I also cant help but chuckle a bit when i see it...it is just so pathetic. But as Escorcio said, he will only have himself to balme if he gets hurt...but I hope he never does.

shipads only help prevent bruises and some limping. If his legs gonna snap, no shin pad is gonna stop that.
I think they're awesome, but wouldn't wear them myself.

.
before the last WC France had a friendly w/China and Djbril Cesse broke his leg, he wears larger shin gaurds and his legs are taped up so much that he said he broke his leg when he got tackled and they had to take his word for it. there was no way to see it until they got him into the locker room and cut everything off.
