This whole "I'm a Texan" has been one big ruse. Ive been taking the piss for five years acting like a Spazzo. I'm really an Englishman- a lad from Shropshire. I cannot wait for England to take the pitch in the Round of 16. Rooney is god and Erickson is a plastic tranny. Go Three Lions!

1) England is anything but a "bandwagon" outside of England. Brazil is the bandwagon.
2) The England supporters are funny in that they are the only ones I know of that actively discourage support from outside England. Any other national teams I've hung out with seem intent on trying to convert you to their cause. A strange kind of courtship even.
With the English you have to have been around a bit for some experiences (especially there for big defeats, thats important to them,) and even then you need to show some knowledge, staying power, and attitude. The English love exclusiveness like no others.
3) The very last thing you ever want to do is give up even the smallest part of your heart to England. It's an endless drama of hope and despair. All the worse in a way when the risk was mostly voluntary. If I could start it all over I'd follow Brazil. But probably not - because I guess I'm just a sucker for tragedy it seems.

Gringo and Someday trying to become accepted as token Limeys and all because their own team crapped out. (Is that the term.?)
There were over 200 yellow card given out in the first round. 15 red cards and 15 penalties (PK's I think you call them)
And if you read the yank boards, they all went against the US of A. :)

1] If I hadn't have followed last weeks events, then after reading this I'd think....
2] England are out, they're on there way home........
and the US are in the... "round of 16.....!!!"
3] So, just in case you've didn't understand the complicated scoring system. The team with the least amount of points.... goes home.
4] A goal is only counted as 1... not 6. (the score with Ghana wasn't 12-6)
5] As stated in the last post, you want to read drama angst and despair. Go to the US boards. It's carnage!

That was trollific! You've earned your scousing chavness a five quid gift certificate from Greggs. So that should keep you and your seven "little dumplings" fed well past this World Cup.
(see what I mean? Yeah?)

I'm torn between the English and German bandwagons, myself. I think I'll root for England while I'm in England, but I'll switch to Germany once I cross into Scotland.

That's because in any other country its not impossible to get tickets.

Good idea - supporting England in Scotland can be detrimental to your health, just ask the 7 year old kid who got smacked in the head by a Scotsman for wearing an England t-shirt

By that logic it's more my team than than a great deal of you residents. And Rooney shouldn't be wearing the kit.
