http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/world_cup_2006/teams/england/5105642.stmEriksson's assistant, Steve McClaren, has a huge influence in the camp - "he used to take all the coaching and all the sessions when I was involved," says Mills - but is not renowned for charisma
lol I thought so.
Also the quote from Fowler was very interesting "There was no team spirit, no fight, no togetherness... and the manager didn't say a word"
suprise suprise.

Well, lets look at it another ways fellas.
It's the second round of the biggest football competition played.
If the players themselves, or even one or two on the field, can't instill a spark up their collective arses - it's time for different players!

There arent any leaders in the camp.
no sane person could be inspired by Mr Burns ,mcClaren and beckham.
about as much personality as a bag of rocks.
we need a more vocal backing staff .Someone who can smash some skulls.

I think in Terry and Gerrard we have two players like that though.
They are both quite vocal and show excellent leadership skills, week in and week out, in the league.
This leads to the question though, why are they shackled for England?

Gerrard is definitely shackled (on the pitch seeing as he aint allowed to show his real talent most of the time).
If terry and gerrard cant stir things up in the camp then something must be badly wrong.
