Just seen the BBC footage of the SGE interview earlier on. He was asked by Garth Crooks whether England were marking zonally. Erikson replied with " no, we always mark man to man". Crooks then asked "so what happened?" and SGE responded with " why don't you ask the players"
This is the most shambolic answer i have ever heard from a manager. it is absurd. 1) the buck stops with the manager 2) the manager is responsible for the system to which a team plays, and it is incumbent upon him to ensure that the playing staff are aware of what they should be doing IE if they are man marking, which man they are suppose to be marking. 3) the players should not be fielding questions on why they were unaware who to man mark.
Mark Lawrenson was right all along, we have Chancey Gardener as England manager
