Spain starting 11 new players from their previous lineups. Wow.

i actually think this is a big mistake. i thought spain took a step backwards during the tunisia game, where they played mediocre in my opinion. the first team squad needs all the practice that they can get, even if it is against saudi arabia.

hehe, it's kind of funny I'm watching on ESPN and can hear the Spanish announcers shouting in the background. There really is a big difference in how the two languages call the games....

haha. yeah. this has happened before. i was listening to the brazilian station during the germany-poland game and you could hear the univision guys going nuts at the end of the game when germany hit the post twice.

They also played their players with yellow cards. Puyol is the onlt plyer with a booki g on record to sit out. What if someone receives their second yellow....

It was a great set piece! Spain player dives, gets awarded free kick, free kick goes in the box for a header and a goal!!

puyol shouldnt be playing and i agree with that. but, i think that most of the starting 11 should have been playing in this game. just treat it as a friendly. start maybe 6 regulars, and 5 guys you have questions about.

either way, spain are dominating this game as expected, although i wouldve expected their reserves to have more than one goal by now.

I agreed. They should keep the team going while at it and sat out the players with yellow card. What if Raul scores a hattrick.... then, will he get a start next game over Torres or Villa?

Raúl is not going to play the whole match, I doubt he scores a hattrick. Likewise, he hasn't regained the fitness to be a starter.

Saudi Arabia has to be a strong candidate for worst team at the Cup this year, even with a tie in the 1st game.

btw, fairly funny comment from the BBC to start the 2nd half:

45 mins: The match restarts. If the score in the other Group H match between Ukraine and Tunisia stays at 0-0, Saudi Arabia will need to score at least six goals to qualify. But there is no sign of pigs flying over the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

Yes, it's funny but also sad for Saudi fans out there.
