We beat #2 and now we beat #5
Next is #1 (potentially). This will be Brazil v Brazil of Africa and should be a good game. I am not so worried about Essien not playing - we have enough depth
Black Stars have been playing under-strength since July 2005 and sine we got our full squad, the results have been impressive
Turkey - draw
South Korea - win
Jamaica - win
Italy - loss
C-Rep - win
USA - win

co-sign. If Ghana beats Brazil than we should be ranked top 5. Already defeated two top 5 sides lol.

essien was okay today but against brazil you need players who are not known muntari i hope can come in, let everybody play, as a team. as for brazil i dont understand might get better tho but nothing like them, after senegal beat france anything is possible its fact ghana is surprise team of tournament. ranked 50, i wonder what their next ranking would be maybe 5.

how about "Ghana N.1 Special World Cup Ranking Edition" and a golden plate personally handed by Blatter to the President of the Ghanian Federation?

I have not said anywhere that we'd beat Brazil.
I am just noting my team's acomplishments in the WC and also pre-WC.

Naaah, you *wish* FIFA rankings were that simple eh :)
We were #49 at the start of the WC. Win, lose against Brazil we'll end up ~ mid-forties.
Maybe the *new* ranking formula will push us up.

First things first. The Black Stars will have to step up their game big time to not get wasted by even a mediocre Brazil. That performance today was poor at best.

They did NOT play poorly! They just weren't playing a heavy offense and was content with protecting their lead. Did they make mistakes? Sure. Will Brazil be an incredibly tough challenge? Of course. But don't downplay the win because of spite!

Was a pretty even game.
I am just surprised that the US got only 2 shots on target. They seemed to be camped in the final third of the BS area and looked threatening several times. US game was scarier than the C-Rep game. What was surprising is that Arena did not throw the kitchen sink at us, say from the 70th minute onwards

Congratulations to Ghana. They came to this World Cup and surprised everyone. They were the team against which we (Italy) played that impressed me the most, the loss notwithstanding. For me, the two best teams in Group E advanced.
Best of luck against Brazil.
