your team & world cup final prediction

I´m interested in yours predictions for your favorite world cup team !!!

My favorite team is - of course and what else - GERMANY !!!

round of sixteen: Germany - Servige: 2 - 0 :cool: cool swedish guys - a little bit too cool in the hot munich stadium...!

quarterfinal: Germany - Argentina: 2 - 1 :D nice try Argentina - but the Argentinian team have to keep their power for street dances in Buenes Aires, as Diego did on the stadium stands!

semifinal: Germany - Italia: 3 - 1 :p the motivation of that victory is the revenge of march! And the motivation of the Italian team to loose ist the fact, that they just earned enough money - or should I say GET enough money - they just want to go on holiday!

Finale: Germany - Brasil: 4 - 0 ... (may be 4 - 1) ;) the big mega stars will leave each other out in the rain. And of course: Ronaldo will be get more and more fat because of the German favorite dish Schweinshachse!


How could anybody veto these explanatory statements??? I think no one ;)

i think who wants to win the wc needs to overcome argentina this year.
i agree with your prediction for the sweden match. germany with their run at the moment and the crowd in the back should win them, but if they face argentina, i think that's the end of their dreams...

i hope portugal could do well. ok, history is not in favour of us and they didn't show their best performances ,yet, but they're getting better.

netherlands is a difficult task but possible. england in the quarters even harder but they also showed some weaknesses if under pressure.
afterwards brasil is a possible opponent in the semis (although they need to get better to reach the semis), and to quote mr benhakker, when asked how to prepare the team for the england match: i don't need to motivate the team.
and having kcicked out all these teams the last obstacle will be shaking of portugals power and loose the final to us... :cool:

Englands route to the final seems clear enough, even if I'm not sure they're capable of doing it.

Many assume that it is a given we will beat Ecuador, and if the players think the same then we will be humiliated. Luckily I'm sure they don't, and we should prove too much for them.

The quarters will bring Portugal or Holland, two very good teams who are more than capable of beating us. If we want to win that, we need to hit some serious World Cup winning form. Against Holland I'm not too sure, it could go either way. I fancy us against Portugal, not because I think they aren't as good as us or Holland, but because we owe them after Euro 2004 and I think the England players will be well up for it.

After that it's the semis, and that could be anyone from Brazil, Spain, or even France and Italy. If we're playing well enough to get this far, then there is no reason why we can't beat any of those teams.

The big test will be the quarters against Holland/Portugal. Win that, and they can go all the way.

yes but you have to see it that way:
germany has home advantage, which is always a big plus.
and germany is not any mediocre football nation like south korea or japan which where both knocked out before the final in 2002.
germany with 7 finals, 3 world cups, and 3 euro cups is definitely one of the better teams in the world.
on paper (!) the german national team is the second best behind brazil (for international successes), Argentina and Italy come after them.
come on, we even had a much worse team in 2002 than now and we still reached the final. argentina did not play well against holland, well at least they showed they aren't unbeatable.
