Alright. This thread isn't getting closed until we have songs for every one of our players who gets time.

It sucks that when Scott Sealy gets a brace, we have nothing to show our appreciation. Something's listed below but I've never heard anyone even attempt that.

Beyond the fact that they deserve it for their efforts, it will mix it up a bit so we're not constantly repeating chants. It would also be better if we could come up with something that can be done for more than 5 seconds without becoming dull.

Some of the ones we already have are listed here, though suggestions for alternatives are definitely welcome.

*DAVY ARNAUD*
Davy, Davy Arnaud
King of Arrowhead
*repeat*

*JOSE BURCIAGA*
Jose
Jose Jose Jose
Jose....Jose
*repeat*

*NICK GARCIA* to the Nickelodian theme
nick na nick na nick nick nick
nick garcia

*JACK JEWSBURY*
Action Jackson
Clap clap, clap clap clap
*repeat*

*BO OSHONIYI*
Bo Bo super Bo
Bo Bo super Bo
Bo Bo super Bo
Super Bo Oshoniyi

*KERRY ZAVAGNIN*
Ohhh Kerry Kerry
Kerry Kerry Kerry Kerry Za-Vag-nin
*repeat*

*JOSH WOLFF*
There's only One Josh Wolff!
*repeat*

(This one hasn't gone well very often)

*SASHA VICTORINE*
Victorine! ***say it like VIC-ta-reeeeen***
Victorine!
Can't have Victory without Victorine!

(He did seem to approve of the "Sweep the Leg" chant last week as well. Personally, I think this one is weak)

*SCOTT SEALY*
He's from TNT, He's Dynamite
Scott Sealy, he leads the fight
He plays for K...C tonight ***pause between K and C***
Scott Sealy, he's dynamite

(I think this needs to be simpler)

*Yura Movsisyan* to tune of Que, Sera Sera
Hey Yura, Yura
Score a goal for me, for me
Lead us all to Victory
Hey Yura, Yura

I agree that Sasha's and Sealy's need work, for being too weak.

Player chants need to be quick and easy to understand

BTW

One that we've done for Jimmy Conrad

I really liked the sweep the leg chant for Victorine. He responded well to it as Szazzy said. I think it would be good to go with that from here.

After he fouls someone, it should be "Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy!". :D I think KCBearcat's making a flag that says that too.

Song for EJ...

To the tune of Foreigner's "Jukebox Hero"

Gotta keep on runnin',
Someday he's gonna make it to the top,
And be a GROWN-ASS-MA-HAN,
got stars in his eyes,
Yeah, GROWN-ASS-MA-HAN
got stars in his eyes,
With that one thru-ball,
He'll come alive.

Seeing your handle "Sabotage" has me thinking we can come up with a chant using "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys for someone on the team :)

Ya, like after Bo gives up a goal that he clearly should have saved:

Oh My, It's A Mirage,
I'm Tellin' Y'all It's a Sa-BO-tage.
(drums here) BOOM-BOOM...BOOM-BOOM

Question, and it's an honest one...

What is our goal as a section? To be as loud as possible as much as possible, or to be creative?

Yes, some of our chants are repetitive, but as we're seeing during the world cup, the easier they are, the longer they go and the more non-fans get involved with them.

Witness last game... Toward the end of the game, we started the Ohhh, KC Wiz chant. I kept hoping it would die so that we could do the "Can You Hear The Fire Sing?" chant, but it just had legs of its own.

I'm all for being creative, but I'd rather see us as loud and influential as opposed to creative.

Well what happens when you try to be creative is you get chants like Sealy's that are long and complicated and don't catch on that well with the section. The chants that catch on are the simple ones that are easy to repeat, that's why the Forza Kansas City Wiz chant has worked well, it's easy and repetative.

Yeah, but it's not mind numbingly simple. That's why we repeat it. The clap-clap-clap name ones get done twice and we quit.

Both actually.

Repetitive is fine -- if it is going well, keep singing it. But doing the same chant four or five times in one game, that's too much. We have more chants and we seem to have stopped using some of them.

Player chants would be a welcome addition. They are by nature usually fairly short and that's ok.

I've got the signs done... I'm going to get some thicker material to put them on so they're a little more durable... they'll be ready by Wednesday...

Like Mark said, both, but I lean more toward the easy, loud and repetitive types. That said, we do need to make sure we don't do the same chant 10 times in a game.

As for player chants, it's nice to have them, but we only really pull them out when the player does something good. And they need to stay easy. These long ones are not going to work, whether we try to make them or not. It'll end up being 3 guys who know it doing it one time through and realizing no one is with them, so they'll stop.

the croats have mastered this plan. for my money, they've been the best crowds in the cup. what do they do? i swear it's nothing more than this:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (for about 8 beats), then they do it again only one note lower. then repeat. when they had 30k+ doing that for the last 10 minutes of their first game against brazil, it sounded incredible.

Exactly. It's continuous noise for 5 minutes plus that gets the rest of the stadium to eventually do it. The Ohhhh KC Wiz stopped up front (like every chant in the every other person actually does stuff rows), but the reason it kept going is because the people up top wanted to keep singing it, and make it last awhile. The guy who was standing next to me, Andy, was a machine. He wouldn't let that one die and it turned out to be great.

When we stop something after 2 times, maybe the sections next to us will catch on to it. Maybe. The whole point is to get the rest of the stadium to help us.

Agreed, but we could go through all the players on the field after "here we go" at the start of each match.

-- Go without saying, it's what Liverpool do! :D
