I'm glad I didn't buy a scalp to the "let's not get hurt or suspended" festival between Holland and Argentina.

However, I did get to enjoy a great day in Frankfurt where the color of the day was definitely Oranj. Absolutely nuts. I even had a beer hit me from behind during a friendly melee in the town square.

What a great set of fans. And the smattering of Argentines amongst them were also very friendly.

I'll try to get some photos out of the day tomorrow.

I envy you, Andy.

I was in Orlando in '94 when Dutch fans started a huge party in the city center after beating Morocco and making the Round of 16. Plenty of booze and singing, all of the friendly variety.

Closest thing to an incident I recall was when a tiny Dutchman slipped out of his bright orange wooden shoes and tried to swap them for a burly Orlando cop's footwear. The guy got as far as stooping and trying to pull the shoes off, but the cop's yelling stopped him.

Definitely the most fun football fans on the planet, in my opinion.

I'll never forget the night before and the post-game night
of the Holland-Brazil QF in Dallas in '94. What a wild scene.
There were at least 50,000 fans from each side intertwining
with the locals; i've never before and will never again see
the westend/downtown, deep ellum, and lower greenville
lit up with color and HOT CHICKS like it was for those 48 hours.
The media center was here also, which meant you had an
additional 5000 assorted hangers-on from all federations.

The World was Dallas, at least for a day.
