Nothing earth-shattering, but here are some tidbits from the FIFA article:
They're not underestimating the US. Apparently Ghana has been "spying" on the US.
Coach believes Ghana can reach the semis
Mentions that loss of Gyan and Muntari will hurt Ghana greatly

That just means they got some videotapes from an American grocer in Ghana. ;)

There is no way to train for the experience of needing a result on the final day of the group stage at the World Cup, however.

Reaching the finals will essentially means playing Brazil in the second-round, so why stop at predicting the semis if you plan on beating Brazil, why not predict taking the Cup when you're not even out of the Group Stage.

Not understimating the US, yet speaking about reaching the semis seem antithetical to each other. Or is it just me?

that little promo was actually shown in both half-time "analysis" shows -- I saw it twice.

of course, the u.s. has NEVER won their third game at the world cup. ever. ever. ever. so maybe experience is overrated.

Alright boys, I want each and every one of you to have lights out by 12 am at the latest. We have a big game tomorrow morning. Last Saturday the match against Italy was perhaps the biggest in our history, now it's the match against Ghana. Sweet Dreams.

Indeed. There may be no bigger test in football. Last time we faced it, we failed miserably.

Just you...
You should have confidence in your abilities and expect to do well, but not underestimate your opponent.

we've only experienced failure. they don't know what to expect, in a way. 'not knowing' was what a lot of people on here and elsewhere said helped the likes of Landon and DMB last time around. they just played like they didn't know there was supposed to be pressure.
and a good chuck of our team -- including potential starters Keller, Johnson, Convey, Dempsey, Gooch, Boca, Dolo, Conrad -- have never experienced it either.
i just don't think either team has an advantage in the area of experience in clinching games. those of our players who have played in them have failed. sometimes naivety of the pressure is an advantage.

Not totally. If Ghana win tomorrow and Italy-Czech tie, Ghana would win the group...

But even more often, failure is great preparation for future success in sport.
Ghana is in almost the same situation as we were 4 years ago - a team that has always been considered an underdog that has just become a favorite with nearly total control of their own destiny. The role reversal is not always so easy.
