Alright guys both games are pretty early in the morning and I am not a morning person. Luckily I have a Tivo and can record ONE of the games (CZE v ITA or USA v GHA). I am torn as to which game to watch. Which one do you think will be more influential, and a better game?

Italy-Czech Republic....Though there may be some bias there... :D

Ghana - USA is less likely to be a tactical match; the highlights could be of better quality in Italy - Czech Rep.

I think the US/Ghana match is actually more likely to be hotly contested and exciting. Sure the quality may be better between the Europeans, but I don't know if the Czechs are going to show up. You KNOW that both the US and Ghana will show up. There aren't nearly enough 3rd games where both teams really need a win. Don't miss this one.

Haha, I have a similar problem. I can only record one game at a time, and I don't know which. Luckily though, I have two TVs and so I can watch both games at the same time. So my plan right now is that if the USA game is going to be rebroadcasted later, I will record the Italy-Czech game, and then record the USA game. If not, then I will record just the USA game.
As for your problem, I'd voted for you to watch the USA game.

That is a great idea. I didn't think of that. The US game is probably also going to be on ESPN Classic later. Of course, which ever game you watch first, they will tell you the score of the other game so there will be no suspense.

Well, I'm not a morning person either...but I'm definently setting my alarm clock for this one. Watch Ghana/US...it'll probably be more exciting than Italy/Czech.

You record whichever one that your favorite team is in.You will know the outcome of the other match, though. I can record two items, assuming my children pay attention to the "do not turn on the TV" note plastered in the middle of the screen. My problem is trying to make it through until 5pm edt without someone telling me what happened so that I can come home and watch it without knowing the outcome. The early start has me a bit worried regarding that. The 9 AM being a bit too early for you..... what were you doing last WC when myself and others like me were chugging pots of coffee to make it to the 3am start? Just getting home, I suppose:D

I'd be supporting my country on all accounts. Quite suprised that you'd even have to question the issue.
Anyway, You lot would have to win by atleast 5 or 6 goals to go through, but it should still be a great match.
Personally, I'll be watching the Czech's (hopefully) dispose of the Italians. Now that, will be a one of the matches of the group stage. Absolutely massive.

well according to my Tivo ESPN 2 will rebroadcast the USA game at 1030pm so I I think I will record the Italy game at 655 so I can have both. Too bad they will be updating the score of the USA game.... :(

Watch your country. Let the other's do as they may.
OR, go get a splitter, an extra coax cable and another TV. Set them up next to one another and watch them both at the same time. That's what we're doing at my house. :)

I have a splitter, two TVs in the living room, the new DVD-R hooked up to one, and the old VCR hooked up to the other (for later copying onto DVD.)
GO USA!!!

If your an american you would have to record the USA-Ghana match. Wheres your patriotism? ;)
Even as a neutral i think that would be the better game to watch.
