robinson (6) - considering the amount of corner kicks and set pieces he had to deal with I guess he did ok.

Carragher (5) - Passing wasnt great .Didnt seem to stem the flow of danger from sweden down the wings.

A.Cole (4) - seriously lacking in defence.

terry (6) - Very sloppy in the 2nd half .His bungled pass lead to the build up to the first sweden goal.

rio (6) - reasonable display .but also had a hand in swedens first goal.

Lampard (3) - anyone see frank?? apart from acouple of wild shots I didnt see much of him.

Hargreaves (6) - did nicely in the first half .kinda faded in the 2nd half.


beckham (3) - garbage .

Owen (5) - injured in first minute .ooopps

rooney (6) - some nice touches in the first half .got tired in the 2nd half


Crouch (5) - sh1te

j.cole (6) - Nice goal but his constant running infield down blind alleys was killing me .he aint got a left foot .

gerrard (7) - nice goal in his short time on the pitch

campbell (5) - sh1te defending on swedens 2nd goal.

J. Cole - 7 - great goal and good first half preformance, faded in the 2nd with everyone else

Hargreaves - 7 - Thought he had a good game tonight, did a good job

Beckham - 3 - ********ing useless

Crouch - 6 - won a few headers and did some nice neat play.

Rooney - 6 - quite livley in the first half but tired in the 2nd

Cole A - 4 - might be time for Wayne Bridge?

Posh - 5 - good work rate, but no invention...........

Lamps - 6 - not that bad, but a lone gunner.........

Hargroves - 4 - good first half then lost the plot..........

Cole J - 7 - good goal, plenty of work, but too cash...........

Looney - 6 - great first half, understandably faded........

We are doomed - we cannot go on riding our luck, like this, if we are to meet the Dutch after the round of 16................we need a huge win against Ecodor, which doesn't look likely...................:(

Overall I thought it was a good performance

I just hope its simply a case of Sweden being superb on corners and set pieces and not England being woeful at defending them. Something tells me its probably a bit of both.

Robinson -6

Carragher - 5 - Tired but had much work to do as the Swedes looked to win corners from the flanks. Poor in possession but had little support from Becks as an outlet in the second half

Rio - 7 Up until injury he looked both solid and stylish

Terry - 5 Woeful misjudgement for Sweden's second goal

Cole -6 Improvement but still lacking sharpness

Hargreaves - 7 Very Good performance. Hopefully that will shut up those who lambast him having rarely seen him play

Lampard - 7 - Looked much better without Gerrard

J Cole -7 - Class act in the first half. Proud to have such a player displaying his skills for England on the biggest stage

Beckham -5 Anonymous in the second half. Cant remember him once coming deep to take the ball from Carragher

Crouch - 6- Knitted play together well but was dissapointing in the air

Rooney- 6 - Looked promising as the furthest forward but clearly not match fit

Robinson 6 - First really big game in an England shirt and did ok.

Carragher 4 - Looked out of his depth but tried his best.

Ferdinand 7 - His contribution is essential to us.

Terry 6 - Not his best but he's still the man.

A. Cole 7 - Much better.

Beckham 4 - Let England down and I wonder if the fire isn't so bright as it was.

Lampard 5 - Some useful work but hasn't earned his place for me.

Hargreaves 8 - Fantastic. Played with guts and passion. Showed why Sven believes in him.

J. Cole 8 - Masterful display and one of the all time great individual goals.

Rooney 7 - Made a big difference in my eyes but was 60% off his best.

Crouch 5 - Did OK but I'm afraid he looks a tad shakey at this level.

Campbell 6 - To come off the bench at this level without a game played and still make big tackles deserves respect.

Gerrard 8 - Different class and the only English player close to Rooney.

robinson 5 nothing impressive, poor at crosses and a poor punch into the game, couldve done more for the second goal, good reflex from carraghers own goal

carragher 5 diddnt do anything really, poor going forward and over hitting the ball

terry 5 at fault for second goal pretty poor day for "words best defender"

rio 5 average as hell, did nothing really and got injured

cole 5 pretty poor game for cole too, diddnt really do much, got forward alot tho

hargreaves 6 good game, got round and cut out some passes and worked hard

lampard 5 average again, needs to be dropped, adds nothing to the team, poor shooting

beckham 6 a couple of good crosses, a little better than some of the others, still nothing special

cole 7 worked hard, scored a spectacular goal, hiom and rooney about the only players who stood out

crouch 5 did nothing

rooney 7 was effective and good with the ball when going at people, good passing, nearly scored a brilliant goal

campbell 5 average, at fault for goal with terry for second cleared a couple of times

gerrard 7 great header and good for the time he was on, he is twice lampard

Ashton is indeed a very good player but he wouldnt have scored the goal against T& T. Shame he wasnt picked


Again Terry's performance is being overlooked. Not bad overall but he was DIRECTLY responsible for Sweden's equaliser.

A good performance against T& T may have convinced some but for me he always has a mistake in him against the better teams in International games.

If that had been a Rio or Sol mistake they d be getting beaten from pillar to post...
