As a goalkeeper I am very interested in hearing the views of fellow 'keepers on their equipment... What are you favourite gloves, boots, shirts, pads, bags and so on. There are so many topics about boots for your average outfield player, I just thought it might be nice for us Number 1's to have a shout?
Please correct me if I am wrong...
Thankyou please

If you are serious about goalkeeping, you need to check out http://www.goalkeeperzone.com. Probably the best site on the net for keeper-specific talk.
My online store goes live next week, specifically for goalkeepers. When it goes online, check out http://www.betweenthesticks.com.

well since the keepers are all in one place I have a quick question.
I think im starting to like playing keeper, but i want to just start out playing with my friends and training sessions. So I want to buy some starting gloves but I want to spend $20-40. than maybe get better high quality ones if it catches on. What would you guys recommend?
I was thinking of something like this, $26

For your budget, go for the Nike Grip III's. They have a great fit and theyre pretty grippy in most conditions. I use it as a training glove. Definetly match-worthy though.

Well I ordered 3 pairs of Sells Adhesion Ultra + Wrap and have played in them twice now, I must say after always being an adidas keeper I think I have been converted, the fit of these gloves and comfort is sensational not to mention the grip. I currently wear Nike AZTIII FG (thanks to ebay :D ) although coming from Northern England I need a good pair of sg boots, I would like to stick with Nike but adidas preds are tempting me. Another quick question whilst we are all here... What cut of gloves do you all prefer and why? For me its roll finger everytime, mainly thanks to the wet weather conditions, but also the comfort and ball contact with these is spot on. Thoughts please?

To be honest Uhlsport lower end gloves tend to fade very quickly and when they do the grip is awfull. The best gloves for your money IMO are the NIKE TIEMPO GRIP gloves, they look nice as well. If I was you I would avoid anything with finger protection, It's a gimick that takes away a lot of feel in your hands. The best finger protection is good technique. Hope this helps?

reusch make excellent gloves same as uhlsport, i wear tunits and f50 gloves but im gona get a pair of reusches or uhlsports as the f50 gloves get relli wet, i am also getting the nike jeresy were it has 2 colours split in half (latest goalie jeresy {watch the world cup keepers supported by nike to see them})
but keeping has its ups and downs, so just train your hardest and hope you save every chance the opposition gets :)

What are the f50 gloves like? I really want to try em out but im not willing to pay that much for a new unproven concept. Does the zip get in the way? Do they ever come apart slightly?

no not relli, at times you can feel the zip, like when you get kicked in the pinky:mad:
the adidas writting and logo peel off rather fast tough, its a good glove iv had no problems with them but because its material it soaks up the water and they are constantly wet thats why im gettin a pair of reusches or uhlsports:D

The difference really between 3mm and 5mm (are you sure it's 5? It's usually 4.) is the feel of the ball in your hands. With 3mm you 'feel' the ball more, where thicker latexes give more cushion and less feel.
I personally depise the Tunit glove. They're the only glove I've ever put on that hurt my hands when I made a fist. I think it's gimmicky, to be honest.

Well mentioning what you have got is far more impressive than just tryin to make yourself sound good :D
I am also a collecter and have about 50 pairs of gloves, some good some bad some down right ugly... What I was really interested in was what you personally use for games? What is your prefered choice of equipment?
As you and I both should know it's not the collection you own that makes a good keeper :p lol
