So i'm curious - how does everyone tie their boots - i have adidas cleats and my lacing pattern is:

first half of a bow knot (ie just wrapped around each other) then I wrap the laces around the the middle where the arch is (ie gap between the toe and heel spikes) and then tie the full bow - i'll get a picture later

I pretty much make two bunny ears and then the bunny runs around the tree and jumps in a hole.

My laces arent that long I just do a regular bow.

But use to wrap my long laces between the far back two spikes. Dunno heard it gave a snugger fit at ur heel and I always did it after that,

I just cut mine off so they make a short bow and burn the end. I can't be doing with massive laces flapping all over the place.

If they are laces that go under a tongue i cut them and turn knots in the end so they dont slip undone.

I've cut the ends off the laces on my Vapor II's (not the MVIII's, you NEVER try something like that on your best pair) and tied them at the ends of the eyelets. It's hard to explain so I will do it in diagram form:

Bear in mind these aren't actually my boots. But anyway, I tied a knot at each of the eyelets and cut the laces off so they stay there. Now I don't bother to undo and redo my boots every time I put them on, they've moulded to my feet so well they are now slip-on anyway. That way I don't have to worry about doing them up etc. The best thing is the knots don't even get in the way of my shooting! I would recommend it to anyone!

I know what you do Bigg its the same as when you do it to your Tns! Hahaha, so they laces don't come loose! ;)

I hate having my laces flapping about. I don't see why boot companies like Adidas give you such long laces! Even the V1s have mega long laces when you first get them!

adidas gives you mega long laces for doing what i do with them - wrapping them around the bottom of the boot for a tighter fit

It's like, even more fuming when you try to stuff the laces inside the shoe and you have to bend over every 20 steps to tuck them back in when they come out. Tn's may be legendary bu they are my only trainers that do that. All siz pairs. You know what? That really GRINDS MY GEARS.

All family guy references gratefully received!

Well it's best they sell them long, then u can just use what u want. Too long is always better than not long enough, or so I hear....

In the states I hear u buy vests uber long and cut them as required. Sounds genius to me, especially as none of my vests are really long enough!

Does your boot really feel tighter by doing that? I have always avoided tying my laces like that...it gets all grubby and it often looks quite shabby, and when I curl it with the inside of my boot it gets in the way. But whatever you feel best with...

yup i get a much tighter feel that way - i have flat laces so they don't really interfere with ball contact

I used to tie the laces from my Copas around my ankle [in high school]. I still see some players do that, I believe I picked it up from some of the Mex. National Team.

I don't personally use this method, but some of my team mates do and I have seen it used by a few pro's too.

Using a long lace, instead of wrapping the lace under the arch of your boots, wrap them behind the studs at the back of your heel.

The reason my team mates do this, is because it draws the lace to the back of your boot, offering you a cleaner surface on the top of your foot to strike the ball. It also puts additional pressure on the boot to stay on the foot as it is almost pulling the boot back against your leg.

Apparently, this method is very popular in Eastern European countries.

You guys should try this out. I've just recently started doing this, and that is tying you're shoes really looseley, since the boot is already molded to your foot, it shouldn't slide around too much. As a test, just tie one boot really tight and the other one really loose. Now, try doing the same stuff, like accelerating, turning, etc. You will notice that the really tight boot offers a lot of resistence to your mucles and your movements, whereas the really loose boot offers a lot less resistence and lets your muscles move around a lot more freely. Ever since I started tieing them loosely, I've never gone back, cause you can just feel the difference in your leg/foot muscles at the end of a game, they will have worked, but not over-worked as tying them tightly does.
