Opening a big can of worms here.

Some only eat Kosher, while others have the stomach of a missionary. Without any attacks on religion, who restricts their dietary intake to Kosher food only?

Well, if all goes according to plan, my diet will be predominately kosher very very soon ...

Seriously, my friend who lives in Chapel Hill goes back and forth alot. She'll do the kosher thing at home, but then when she's on the road or eating out with the team, she'll eat a cheeseburger. But she doesn't do pork or shrimp, etc. at all.

As for me -- south georgia born and bred. I don't think I had a single meal growing up that didn't have at least some sort of pork involved. So, I'm about as un-kosher as they come.

Most religions have some type of restriction on food. If not always, like kosher in Judaism and halal in Islam, or absolute vegetarianism in Jainism, then there are at least proscribed times when certain things must be abstained from.

-For instance Muslims abstain from all food and drink from sunrise to sunset during Ramadan.
-Orthodox Christians abstain from meat & dairy products as well as alcohol on Wednesdays and Fridays as well as during Lent and Advent. (basically vegan)
-Strict Jains don't even eat root vegetables because it kills the plant.
-Most Hindus don't eat beef either.
