I hope Bellamy stays at Blackburn for the sake of the fans and manager. Bellamy was a troubled player when you bought him and in a way the manager took a risk bringing him to the club with his past history of bringing trouble to the clubs he has played for, but Hughes has done brilliant and made him into one of the Premiership's best strikers. He should repay the faith by staying put at Blackburn - I think he would get more respect if he stayed and did well for you in the UEFA Cup.

I guess we'll see what Bellamy is all about as a person in the next day or two. Sigh.

I'm sure alot of top players have such clauses in their contracts. Didn't Duff have one as well?

To be fair though, £6m for Bellamy is a bargain in a way for Liverpool if they do manage to sign him. Bellamy for £6m or Andy Johnson for £8.5m... I'd chose Bellamy in this moment of time.

You are absolutely right about Hughes.

These are the sorta situations wheer I hoped that making the UEFA Cup would bode well for Blackburn in retaining and attracting players. I guess we will see.

6 mil seems a bit slight though.

It's official...Bellamy's a filthy kopite now. Makes me hate that club even more...But in just footballing terms, why wouldn't you do what Liverpool did? 6.5 mill is definitely a bargain.

Just hope this fee supplements an already nice war chest and doesn't constitute as the only money we have. Reid has re-signed but Neill has not. We also might be selling Emerton and if we do that the holes in the team will increase. UEFA football is always a good thing, but if the depth is not there to handle the fixture list and competition, it will be short tournament for Rovers yet again.

I have faith in Hughesy, though. He's had a year and a half of transfers and he hasn't let us down once. This move might throw Gallagher and/or Derbyshire into the mix and they might come out stars.

I think by this time next month we shall see how badly this move will effect us. One thing is for certain, it will definitely effect us negatively when we play Liverpool as NOW they have a striker who can actually finish...Dirty kopites...

You guys should resign both Emerton and Neill. Emerton is still yet to fulfill his talent... he's now put in 2 pretty solid games for Australia against Brazil and Croatia. He was especially good against Brazil and was one of our best. Neill has been the rock for Australia, he is a great defender no doubt.

Yeah, it's no secret about Neill; he's very solid for us at right back. Emerton can be a bit frustrating with his inconsistency though. I know the potential is there.....he just doesn't show it every game. :o

In one of the newspapers it said that Blackburn were after Mido - just a rumour but might be some truth behind it. He would be a good replacement although you might need a pace striker as well.

We've given Emerton ample time to show his worth and he's not done it. He's historically played well for his country (usually against crap sides) and poor for club. Whether he is not motivated on the club level or what, he's done nothing to earn his wage for Rovers. He shows flashes, but these are usually a month apart. His potential can only go so far. The ONLY reason I'd keep Emo is because now that Rovers are in Europe the team needs depth. But that is all he is for Rovers and all he's earned for Rovers, is a squad player, not an every day starter. Maybe he needs to go to the A League and be the star of the League...

I agree with re-signing Neill, but if his agent wants Rio Ferdinand type wages, Neill has to go. He's a good guy and great going forward, but not indispensable to the team.

The most pressing area of need is striker. End of story.

i accepted the duff situation because i new we would get a lot of money for him and as a product of our youth accadamy make a big profit on him.but bellamy has clearly lied about his situation (as quoted in the let) and we only make a million pound on him at best when he his worth at least 10 million

Neill looks like going to either Tottenham or Barcelona

Whilst Emerton looks like going to AC Milan.

Tottenham I can believe, but Neill to Barca and Emerton to AC Milan? AC Milan can have Emerton if they want him, but I don't see that they would...

Shame we couldn't even make a profit on Bellamy. We had trouble finding a second striker to partner him last year, and now we need to replace him. Damn.

Its because Johan Neeskans is Barca's new assistant, and he wants to take Neill with him.

The Ac President has been impressed with Emerton's performances at the WC, currently talking to investors i think about bankrolling his move.

It's discourging to only see and hear of players leaving post World Cup and nothing coming in. And, I don't count Mido, cause I have never fancied him one bit.
