If you guys could make three teams, an all Euro team, an all SA team, and "the rest of the world" team, the best players in each of their positions, what would the teams look like? (you guys could add honorable mentions too as subs)

And I am talking about their nationality and not league they play for...I am a soccer newbie (well compared to most on here) so if you could just put their nationality in brackets beside their name.

The reason why I made this thread is that I am not too updated on futball and I want to know who the top players are right now.

Greatly appreciated, and I am sorry if there had been dozens of these kinds of threads before.

Ronaldo? I don't know all that much about Brazil, but I think Robinho would be a better bet than Ronaldo - at least if this team were to be put together tomorrow.

Anybody that puts Ronaldo on the South America XI doesn't know s..t about soccer.
Even Brazil's president called Ronaldo fat a few weeks ago.

This team doesn't have Kaka, but with such a solid defense and the 2 best creative midfielders in the World plus 2 very fast wingers, there's not much need for Kaka's speed in the midfield.

Abbondanzieri

Cicinho Ayala Lucio Sorin <--- Solid defense with fast wingers

Mascherano Emerson <-- 2 best defensive midfielders
Ronaldinho Riquelme <-- The 2 best midfielders

Crespo Robinho <-- 2 very fast forwards with different styles but very accurate shot

You haven't been watching the WC then I gather. Watch the IC match, or the the S&M match. When called upon, he was solid.

Pato is a joke, despite his success thus far in the WC. We are all unfortunately waiting for his next major mistake. :(

Rest of the world would be an all African team with Marquez and concacaf's best goalie.

Yup, and the opposite can be said for Dida. We are waiting to see when he doesn't make a mistake.

beckam hell no i watched game against t&t and evry time defender would come near him he would pass the ball i mean he is winger i think better option would be totti and move pirlo back in front of defence to be a feed between defence and midfield

People are overrating Dida. I may have been wrong in putting Pato there, but Franco is still better than Dida.

RW = The Elephants with Eto'o partnering Drogba up front.

Are we basing this on WC performances thus far or overall?
