Now that we know the two perspective opponents for Group D's advancers are a well disciplined Holland and a rampant Argentina is there any reason to follow this group.

Does anyone honestly believe that whoever comes out of this group will have a chance against either of these teams in the round of 16?

I'm just curious, because I'm considering skipping my first game of the WC in Iran vs. Portugal based on the complete lack of quality in each of the games in the group so far.

Why not? As it stands, every team is still in it. If Portugal advances to meet Holland, they have shown in the past an ability to beat them and Mexico matches up against Argentina, too. Have faith in this group :)

portugal would love to face the dutch, we played them numerous times over the past few years - and won.

If Portugal comes first we eliminate Holland, if we come second we'll get our arses whiped by Argentina. That's the magic:D

This thread is dumb enough to go to world rivalries.

Portugal also lost is first game in Euro 2004, in a very poor display. Yet, steamrolled to the final beating Spain, England and Holland on the way.

We only played one game, and even though the performance wasan´t the best we got a result against a team that today proved to be very tough.

Anything can happen

Better yet, why follow the WC alltogether. We all know either Brazil or Germany is going to win it
